Employees of the Quality Inn and Days Inn in Dothan, Alabama
are Picketing, Complaining They are Not Getting Paid
Dothan Eagle, Ala.McClatchy-Tribune Regional News

Oct. 9, 2008 / Some employees of the Quality Inn and Days Inn on Ross Clark Circle, just south of West Main Street, are picketing outside the hotels, complaining that they are not getting paid.

Sixteen workers were out in front of the businesses on Thursday morning, carrying signs claiming the hotels aren't paying them for the work they are doing. The two hotels were bought last year from Lodgian, Inc., by Kronos Hotels and Lodges, LLC, an Atlanta-based business.\

Current employees refused to talk on the record for fear of losing their job. A former employee, Gladys Taylor, said bounced paychecks and late paychecks were common when she worked there from Nov. 2007, until June of this year.

"We complained and they wouldn't give us a reason," she said. "There just ain't no money in the bank."

A call has been placed with Kronos seeking comment. It was not immediately returned.
