The County Board of Supervisors approves the unanimous selection of Sage Hospitality by the evaluation panel

Denver, CO (November 12, 2008) -- Sage Hospitality announced it has been selected by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors to negotiate a qualified management agreement to provide  management and technical services for the new 185-room in-terminal airport hotel at Sacramento International Airport. Sage was the unanimous recommendation of the evaluation panel following a Request for Proposal process (RFP), and their selection received approval from the County Board of Supervisors at the Boards regular meeting on October 28, 2008.

Sage Hospitality is an impressive company with strong qualifications and experience to manager our new in-terminal airport hotel, said G. Hardy Acree, Director of Airports for the Sacramento County Airport System. Sage met our key proposal criteria, brings an experienced in-house Technical Service team, and offers the additional services of the Sage Restaurant Group, which presents us with an opportunity to consider adding a concept restaurant to the project.

The proposed Westin Sacramento Airport hotel is part of the $1.27 billion Big Build which broke ground in June of this year. The hotel will be located atop the newly constructed Central Terminal B. At the direction of the County Board of Supervisors, the Sacramento County Airport System is negotiating a qualified management agreement and a technical services agreement with Sage Hospitality.

The Big Build will replace the existing Terminal B and includes a new 19-gate airside concourse and a new landside terminal with hotel and parking garage. The project anticipates LEED Silver certification for the landside terminal.  The program will be funded through tax-exempt public financing which requires the Hotel Operating Agreement (HOA) to be structured as a Qualified Management Agreement (QMA).
