At a Renovation Cost of $9.8 million Larkspur Hotels Transforms
San Franciso's Former Monticello Inn to Hotel Abri

November 25, 2008 - Hotel Abri opens its doors in October 2008 creating an urban oasis in the heart of Union Square, just steps away from the top names in fashion, dining, nightlife, art and theater and close to the Financial District and Moscone Convention Center. Formerly the Monticello Inn, Hotel Abri has undergone a dramatic transformation and now features contemporary, urban style and décor. All 90 guestrooms, including 28 suites, have been redesigned, along with the hotel’s new lobby lounge, complete with a welcoming fireplace. In addition, high-end, thoughtful amenities designed to appeal to the business and leisure traveler have been integrated throughout the property.

Larkspur Hotels & Restaurants owns and manages the Hotel Abri, which means “shelter” in French. Rob Brehant is the General Manager. The renovations cost was $9.8 million and the designers were GGLO.

Unique in structure and style, each guestroom is designed using earth tones which are featured in modern couches, chairs and chestnut-colored tables and dressers, creating a stylish, yet comfortable, atmosphere. Premium guest comforts and conveniences include FeatherBorne® Bed packages, L’Occitane guest amenities, plush towels, stylish robes, mini bars stocked with urban essentials. High-tech efficiencies include complimentary wireless Internet, iPod docking stations and 42” LCD flat screen TVs with cutting-edge connectivity panels to allow for easy viewing of digital media entertainment. For those looking for more spacious accommodations, all 24 “Urban Suites” and four, corner “Oasis Suites” feature King-sized beds and a separate living area.

Guests of Hotel Abri are greeted by a spacious lobby, delivering an urban feel with modern lighting, granite floors and copper accents. Next door is the popular Puccini and Pinetti Italian Bar and Grill, offering a lively bar atmosphere and Italian cuisine.

Just off the lobby is Hotel Abri’s complimentary business center and “City” meeting room. Ideal for groups up to sixteen, the “City” room is private but brings the outside in with oversized frosted sliding glass doors and windows. In addition to top-of-the-line audio/visual equipment, conference call capabilities and complimentary wireless Internet, the “City” room features a corner lounge inviting breakaway sessions. Meeting professionals are available to help groups plan and customize as well as provide food and beverage services.
