DALLAS (August 21, 2008) Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, the premier manager of ultra-luxury properties throughout the world, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Michael Casey as managing director of Rosewood Sand Hill, a new hotel and spa scheduled to open in Menlo Park, California in spring 2009. Located just one mile west of the Stanford University campus, Rosewood Sand Hill is minutes from some of the nations foremost venture capital and private equity firms. As managing director for Rosewood Sand Hill, Casey will oversee all areas of the 120-room hotel and spa including Madera, the propertys signature restaurant, and Sense, A Rosewood Spa.

With 27 years of experience and success in the management of luxury hotel operations, Casey joins Rosewood Hotels & Resorts following his most recent position as general manager of San Franciscos Hotel Palomar, part of the Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group, where he re-energized a nine-year-old property and engaged his team to improve business and sales. Casey began his career in the hospitality industry in 1974 as a bellman at the Hyatt Burlingame in California before moving up the ranks to become general manager of the Hyatt Regency in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Casey returned to the San Francisco Bay Area to take on the role of general manager for the Omni, and later for The Argent Hotel in San Francisco.  Casey will now manage Rosewoods newest addition to its already outstanding collection of notable properties.

Rosewood is committed to creating world renowned hotels and resorts, and we are pleased to have such a distinguished industry veteran open this spectacular property, said Bob Boulogne, chief operating officer of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. His years of experience and wealth of knowledge in the hospitality industry is well suited to lead efforts at Rosewood Sand Hill.

In addition to his work in the hospitality industry, Casey held the position of chairman for the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau until 2000 and received Omni Hotels General Manager of the Year for Service Excellence award in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Casey was also director and officer of the San Francisco Multi Employer Group from 2002 through 2006.

Also, Sharon Myers has been appointed director of sales & marketing of Rosewood Sand Hill. Myers, a graduate of Boston University, most recently served as director of sales and marketing at Omni San Francisco Hotel.

With more than sixteen years of sales and marketing experience, we are thrilled that Sharon has come aboard our team to help expand the Rosewood collection, said Bob Boulogne, chief operating officer of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.  We are confident that her years of experience in the luxury hotel industry, and her exceptional management skills, will be key factors for creating a successful opening for Rosewood Sand Hill.

Myers previously held the position of director of West Coast development for The Regency, A Loews Hotel in New York. Prior to that, she was associate director of sales at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in San Francisco, director of suite sales at The Regency, A Loews Hotel in New York, catering and group services manager at El Conquistador Resort and Country Club and El San Juan Hotel & Casino, both in Puerto Rico.

In addition to her role as a senior executive in the hospitality industry, Myers is involved with Bay Area local community outreach programs and is a member of the Junior League of San Francisco. Additionally, in 2005, Myers and two friends co-founded Tools For School Flower Power, an annual luncheon to raise money for back-to-school supplies for local school children whose parents do not have the financial resources to purchase them.
