Harris Hotel Group Prepares to Open 112 room Candlewood
in Columbia, South Carolina

tours of the 112-room Candlewood Suites Hotel located here. Set to open
May 20, 2008 this property is the first in the Candlewood Suites brand
to enter the Columbia/ Ft. Jackson, South Carolina market. The all-suite,
extended stay hotel is being developed by American Hotel Development Partners
in a joint venture with Glenmont Capital Management, LLC. The hotel’s operations,
sales and marketing will be professionally managed by Harris Hotel Group.
“We are pleased to provide the officials of Richland County and the City of Columbia, South Carolina an advanced hard hat tour of this outstanding new property,” said Mr. Jungling. “The development growth of Richland County combined with the long-term stay needs of those that serve in and service our military, make this an ideal location for our Candlewood Suites Hotel. We look forward to returning to this site early this summer to celebrate the opening and begin serving this community.”
Mr. Jungling’s comments were followed by a warm welcome from the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Don Clary, Senior Account Executive for the Chamber spoke on their behalf. “We are extremely excited to welcome the Candlewood Suites Hotel to the City of Columbia, South Carolina. The addition of a new extended stay hotel will be an excellent addition to the Ft. Jackson area of Columbia, South Carolina,” said Mr. Clary.

The hotel is the first joint venture of Sarasota-based American Hotel Development Partners and affiliates of New York-based real estate investment firm Glenmont Capital Management, LLC to pursue the development of extended stay hotels in select markets throughout the United States.
