Waterford Hotel Group Promotes Three to Hotel GM Positions


WATERFORD, CT (June 20, 2008) --- Waterford Hotel Group, a national hotel management company, today announced a number of promotions within its managed hotel portfolio. The new appointments include 
  • Heather Baribeau as general manager of the Courtyard by Marriott in Warwick, RI; 
  • Scott Barlow as general manager of the Residence Inn by Marriott in Mystic, CT; 
  • Amy Rogers as general manager of the Comfort Inn in Mystic, CT; and, 
  • John Grocki as director of sales at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Waterford, CT. 
Waterford Hotel Group, Inc. currently operates 23 properties representing a total of nearly 3,400 rooms, as well as the Connecticut Convention Center.

Heather Baribeau has more than six years of experience at Waterford-managed properties, including her most recent position as general manager of the Comfort Inn in Mystic, CT. Previously Baribeau served as the director of sales for the Comfort Inn and the Holiday Inn in New London, CT. She currently resides in Plainfield, CT.

Scott Barlow has more than 10 years experience with Waterford Hotel Group, and since 2006 served as the company’s operations analyst. His previous positions at the Waterford corporate office include director of internal audits, director of development, and asset manager. Barlow was also part of the pre-opening team for the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa in Groton which opened in 2001, and was the interim hotel controller for the hotel’s first year of operations. 

Amy Rogers joined Waterford in August of 2007 as director of sales for the Courtyard by Marriott in Cromwell, CT. Rogers has several years of full service sales experience, including her role as corporate sales manager at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, CT, and sales manager positions at both the Hilton in Mystic, CT and the Newport Marriott in RI. She also previously served as general manager for two properties in the Tim Hortons franchise, as well as marketing coordinator for their New England Region. Rogers currently resides in Westerly, RI.

John Grocki joined the SpringHill Suites team in 2003 as a guest service agent, and most recently served as the hotel’s front office manager. Prior to joining Waterford, Grocki held the position of regional marketing manager for MetroCast Cablevision in Belmont, NH, overseeing the marketing of new services, brand image and public relations. Grocki currently resides in Norwich.
