Sandos Hotels & Resorts Opens Fourth Property on the
Riviera Maya, Mexico - the Playacar Riviera Hotel &
Spa

Resorts (http://www.sandoshotels.com) has expanded its portfolio of value-added
properties on the Riviera Maya, Mexico, with the addition of the all-inclusive
Sandos Playacar Riviera Hotel & Spa. The official opening of
the hotel was celebrated on April 22, and was attended by Sandos executives,
members of the press, and tour operators.

Pool Area at Sandos Playacar Riviera . �We decided to further develop our all-inclusive brand on the Riviera Maya with the debut of Sandos Playacar Riviera Hotel & Spa and take advantage of the region�s growth in popularity, especially among couples, families and leisure travelers seeking active vacations, the most beautiful beaches in Playacar and exceptional value for money,� said Jacques De Paep, director of sales and marketing, Sandos Hotels & Resorts. Spacious accommodations at Sandos Playacar Riviera Hotel & Spa, each decorated in vivid tropical hues, are housed in one of several three-story buildings. For added convenience and vacation value, each guestroom has a complimentary stocked mini-bar with mineral water, fruit juices, soft drinks and beer. Junior suites feature a sitting area with a sleeper sofa, terrace or balcony, full private bathroom with a Jacuzzi and separate shower, and a satellite plasma television. Designed with families in mind, these suites can easily be adjoined upon request providing more comfort for groups. Master luxury suites, which can accommodate up to five guests, feature a large bedroom with sitting area, a bathroom with Jacuzzi, and a separate dayroom complete with a full bar, sitting area, separate bathroom and shower. An outdoor terrace with a Jacuzzi, deck chairs and table completes the room�s layout. The lobby features private desks for check-in, a bar and lounges located on the second floor. Shuttle service runs continuously from early morning until late in the evening, taking guests from the hotel to the beach. For dining pleasures, there are three on-property restaurants including an International buffet, an eatery serving Asian cuisine, and a snack bar adjacent to the large lagoon-style pool. Additionally, guests of Sandos Playacar Riviera have access to the services and amenities offered at the connecting Sandos sister property, Playacar Beach Resort & Spa, including an additional five restaurants serving Italian, Mexican, International, and Mediterranean fare, along with a buffet. Three of the specialty restaurants require reservations. Those seeking daytime excitement can take advantage of a daily activities program, including volleyball, tennis, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, in-pool scuba diving lessons and a video arcade room. Nightly entertainment is provided at the newly-finished theatre, shared by both Sandos properties, that seats up to 800 people. The two properties also share a new Sandos Spa facility outfitted with 22 treatment rooms, sauna, steam room, two Jacuzzis (one hot and one cold), wellness program, thermal circuit, hydrotherapy zone, beauty salon on three levels, eco-massage area in an outdoor palm shelter, and a fully-equipped gym with rooms for spinning, floor Pilates, yoga and aerobics. An extensive menu of massages and body treatments are available. Use of the fitness equipment, sauna, steam bath and Jacuzzis is free to all guests; spa treatments are available at an additional cost. Additional activities can be arranged for guests including: babysitting, massage and beauty parlor services, golf at the nearby Playacar Golf Course, and other excursions such as deep sea fishing, visits to archaeological sites like Tulum, Cobá, Chichen Itza, Ecological Park Xcaret and Xel-Ha, and scuba diving and snorkeling trips. Prices vary according to activity.
