The Westin Beijing Makes Three Executive Committee Appointments;
Paul M Cunningham Named Hotel Manager

Beijing, Apr 5, 2008 - Mr. Charlie Dang, Area Managing Director of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Northern China and General Manager of The Westin Beijing, Financial Street, has announced three executive committee appointments. Mr. Paul M Cunningham has been appointed as Hotel Manager. A UK citizen, Mr. Cunningham started his hotel career at Claridges Hotel in London in 1990, and gained rich experience through a variety of senior management positions with several leading hotel chains in the UK, China and South Korea. During his ten-year tenure in Starwood, especially at St. Regis Beijing and W Seoul Walkerhil, Mr. Cunningham has achieved world-class service and operational excellence in all areas. He will report to Mr. Charlie Dang, and create a unique renewing experience for travelers and residents in Beijing. Mr. Bernhard Alexander Langer was promoted from Director of Food & Beverage to Executive Assistant Manager. He will be responsible for Food and Beverage operations, Six Sigma, Westin branding and other projects. Mr. Langer joined the pre opening Westin Beijing, Financial Street team, and has been instrumental in building its reputation and credited for creating an inspirational and renewing dining experience. Ms. Jane Jie Wu was appointed as Director of Human Resources.
Prior to this position, Ms. Wu was Director of Human Resources at The Regent
Hotel Beijing. With more than 20 years of working experience in hotel human
resource management, Ms. Wu is keen to deliver her significant knowledge
and experience to manage a caring and passionate family at The Westin Beijing,
Financial Street.
In 2007 its first year of operation, the hotel was recognized with eight prestigious awards from key regional and international media and organizations. The distinguished awards bestowed upon the hotel in 2007 were:
