HORSHAM, PA. — APRIL 28, 2008 — Planning for the 3rd Annual National HR in Hospitality™ Conference & Expo, scheduled for March 16 – 19, 2009, at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., is underway. Produced by Human Resource Executive® Magazine, Cornell University School of Hotel Administration and Cornell University’s ILR School, the 3rd annual event will build on the strengths of this year’s program and add an “International HR” component and “HR Best Practices” track next year. The official Request for Proposal forms (RFPs) for the 2009 conference can be completed at www.HRinHospitality.com. The RFP site will be activated to accept forms between Monday, May 5, 2008, and Monday, July 7, 2008.

“HR in Hospitality™ has proven itself to be a viable, valuable and in-demand event,” said Harry Katz, dean of the Cornell ILR school. “Based on rave reviews, we will continue to feature full tracks for HR practitioners in the Hotel and Restaurant sectors, and a half-track dedicated to labor-relations issues. In addition, HR Hot Topic discussion groups — each facilitated by a Cornell University faculty member, a senior HR industry executive or preeminent hospitality employment attorney — will return, and each will be repeated once during the conference.” Also scheduled to return in 2009 are two preconference symposiums that involve in-depth analysis and discussion, along with at least two keynote addresses.

“The two-day HR in Hospitality™ Expo also will continue next year,” Katz said, “giving hundreds of HR professionals the opportunity to come face-to-face with services and programs that can help them in their daily tasks — from Benefits Administration and Diversity Hiring/Compliance Training to Logo Wear & Uniforms and Payroll Software & Services.”
