Magnolia Lodging Appoints Cathy Guss as General Manager
Amie Thompson as Director of Sales of the Hilton Garden Inn®
|Carrollton, Texas, April 14, 2008 – Magnolia Lodging, LLC
today announced that Cathy Guss has been appointed as General Manager and
Amie Thompson has been appointed as Director of Sales of the new Hilton
Garden Inn® Dallas/Richardson hotel located at 1001 W. President George
Bush Turnpike. The 125-room hotel, currently under construction, is scheduled
to open in early summer 2008. This hotel is owned and managed by locally
based Magnolia Lodging, LLC.
As General Manager Cathy Guss will direct all areas of the hotel’s operations including guest services, sales and marketing efforts and hotel administration.
“We are excited to bring Cathy to the new Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Richardson hotel in Richardson. Based on Cathy’s extensive background and outstanding record in hotel management, we are confident that she will be instrumental in ensuring the success of this new hotel,” said Michael Buta, Vice President of Operations for Magnolia Lodging. “Cathy will be a strong asset to this property as we gear up for its opening.”
Prior to joining the Hilton Garden Inn®, Dallas/Richardson hotel, Guss has had previous experience working with Magnolia Lodging as General Manager of the Hampton Inn and Suites®, Medical Center in Houston.
Amie Thompson is currently the Director of Sales at the Homewood Suites by Hilton® in Plano and will add the Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Richardson to her hotel career portfolio. She possesses several years of sales experience within the hospitality industry as well as an extensive knowledge of the surrounding areas.

When completed, the new Hilton Garden Inn Dallas/Richardson will provide guests with a full complement of services and amenities to include complimentary high speed internet access, remote printing to the hotel’s 24-hour executive business center, the Garden Sleep System® bed, Mirra® ergonomic chair by Herman Miller, HD flat screen televisions, an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool, a full-service restaurant and bar and an onsite guest laundry facility.
