The Executive Inn Rivermont in Owensboro, Kentucky
Enters Receivership for the Second Time in a Decade

Apr. 16, 2008 - The Executive Inn Rivermont went into receivership Monday for the second time in a decade.

But daily operations are continuing as usual "under the direction of the court-appointed receiver," Heath Eric, the hotel's marketing manager, said Tuesday afternoon. "We are committed to continuing to provide nothing but the absolute best possible service for our guests."

The Executive Inn is managed by Chicago-based Grand Tradition Hotels & Resorts. During Monday's hearing, the possibility was raised that Grand Tradition might leave if the court appointed a receiver.

But the company is staying, Eric said.

"As we work through this challenging time, be assured that both the Grand Tradition Hotels & Resorts management team and our devoted group of local managers are fully dedicated to continuing operations," he said in a prepared statement.

The statement said: "We are currently hosting the Kentucky Association of Student Financial Aid Administration annual conference. We have a full house this coming weekend with the United Soccer Spring Cup and the Green River Fire Fighters Spring School."

Eric said: "We continue to aggressively market and sell Owensboro to various groups, conventions and associations. In fact this past weekend, we confirmed the Kentucky Festivals and Events Association's annual conference will take place at the hotel Feb. 4-6, 2009."

The hotel is scheduled to be sold by Master Commissioner John Helmers at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Daviess County Courthouse to satisfy debts of $9.89 million owed to Marshall Investments Corp.
