FelCor Completes Multi-million-dollar Enhancement at the
Doubletree Guest Suites, Lake Buena Vista, Florida

.

ORLANDO, (March 19, 2008) – The Doubletree Guest Suites® in the Walt Disney World® Resort proudly celebrated two great milestones at a grand re-opening event yesterday with company executives, city officials, local businesspeople and hotel guests.  The Doubletree Guest Suites in the Walt Disney World ® Resort is operated by FelCor Lodging Trust Incorporated and is managed by Hilton Hotels Corporation.

The 229-room, all-suite hotel was presented with its official designation as a member of the Florida Green Lodging Program from the State of Florida while celebrating the completion of an extensive, multi-phase hotelwide renovation. This multi-million-dollar project has transformed the hotel’s guest suite accommodations, public spaces as well as brought the brand’s name to life through the introduction of a new casual dining experience -- EverGreen Café.

The Florida Green Lodging Program was established in 2004 by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) with the intent of recognizing and rewarding environmentally conscientious lodging facilities in the state. Through this rapidly growing program the Florida DEP encourages the lodging industry to conserve and protect Florida’s natural resources. The Florida Green Lodging Program is unique in that it covers an all-inclusive list of environmental initiatives that are specific to protecting and preserving Florida’s environment.

“Our team is truly proud of the great strides we’ve made to improve upon the guest experience at the Doubletree Guest Suites in the Walt Disney World Resort.  Not only have we recreated a refreshing hotel product for our guests in one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, we’ve found ways to improve our business through more effective environmental practices as proven through our new Florida State Lodging Program designation,” said Glen Winsor, hotel general manager.  “By thinking globally and acting locally, the Doubletree Guest Suites looks forward to presenting a great all-suite hotel experience, while making a positive difference to make our world a better place in the process.”

To be designated a member of the Florida Green Lodging Program, hotels must implement a variety of green practices. These practices include, but are not limited to, water conservation measures through low flow plumbing fixtures and a linen reuse program, and energy efficiency achieved by installing ENERGY STAR® appliances and programmable thermostats. The waste reduction criteria are met by providing the opportunity to recycle, purchasing items in bulk, purchasing recycled materials and by recycling ink and toner cartridges. All designated members of the Florida Green Lodging Program must also use green cleaners and high efficiency air filters, and clean air handler units frequently.

The Doubletree Guest Suites at the Walt Disney World® Resort is the fourth Doubletree hotel to become an official member of the Florida Green Lodging Program.  Other hotels in the Doubletree collection that are currently certified include the Doubletree Hotel Tallahassee, Doubletree Hotel at the entrance to Universal Orlando® and the Doubletree Guest Suites Naples.  More than 20 Doubletree hotels across the state of Florida are either in the application or review process to become certified with the Florida Green Lodging Program

As part of its multi-phase, multi-million-dollar enhancement project, the hotel team at the Doubletree Guest Suites in the Walt Disney World Resort worked with their ownership to make a conscious effort in making significant style and service upgrades to the hotel, yet achieving their end result with an eye towards sustainability and conservation efforts.

Returning guests will immediately notice the pleasant difference as they enter the hotel’s welcoming lobby.  Comfortable seating areas throughout provide an inviting feeling for guests who want to settle in and relax, along with the benefit of complimentary wireless internet access in all public areas of the hotel. Vibrant tones of chocolate, gold and teal accented with bronze and brushed nickel were used by the design team to offer guests a calming, yet refined feeling.

The hotel’s 229 spacious one- and two-bedroom suites at the Doubletree Guest Suites in the Walt Disney World Resort provide room to relax for families and couples after a busy day at the several sights of Central Florida.  Each guest suite includes a separate living room area with a pullout sofa, microwave oven and refrigerator.  Contemporary comforts include MP3-compatible, stereo clock radios, Wolfgang Puck® in-room gourmet coffee and tea service and the brand’s signature Sweet Dreams® by Doubletree sleep experience.  Guest bathrooms have been designed to include enhanced lighting, wide vanities with granite counters, Neutrogena® bath and body products, marble vanities and a curved shower rod that allows for 20% more space in the shower. To unwind at the beginning or end of a long day, the Doubletree Guest Suites also provides business and leisure travelers with the brand’s signature Fitness by Precor® facility that has been custom designed and upgraded with the latest in stretching, cardio and weight training equipment.

The 4,000 square feet of meeting rooms, pre-function space and ballroom at the Doubletree Guest Suites in the Walt Disney World ® Resort provides a warm, contemporary setting of true modern comfort for small and large group meetings, weddings and other special events of up to 400 guests, along with an extensive array of outdoor function areas.

The Doubletree Guest Suites in the Walt Disney World Resort is proud to present EverGreen Café, an innovative, casual dining experience which brings the brand’s name to life and includes kid activities from The Arbor Day Foundation, one of the world’s preeminent tree organizations.  The hotel’s new restaurant was designed to offer an enjoyable casual environment that serves as a cool and relaxing dining experience for the entire family.

With careful consideration that children are an important part of the clientele, the hotel’s buffet is height-considerate and offers state-of-the-art equipment including specially designed, safe-touch warming trays and easy-to-reach selections.  The menu incorporates kid-friendly food as well as delicious dishes for adults.  The hotel team worked with the Arbor Day Foundation to develop a kid’s menu filled with fun activities and additional activities throughout the restaurant as well as important ways that kids of all ages can show they care about the trees and the environment in their every day lives.
