Chris Furumoto Appointed Controller of Pala Mesa Resort
in Fallbrook, California
| FALLBROOK, Calif., January 16, 2008 � Gemstone Hotels &
Resorts, LLC, a leading hotel and resort management company, today announced
that it has appointed Chris Furumoto as controller of the San Diego County
based Pala Mesa Golf Resort. In his new position, Furumoto will be
responsible for all accounting and financial functions for the resort and
golf operations.
�Chris brings more than 20 years of financial experience, including extensive prior experience as a controller in the hospitality industry,� said Dorcas Beck, interim general manager. �That combination of knowledge and skills makes him an invaluable asset to the Pala Mesa team.� Prior to joining the Pala Mesa, Furumoto was controller at the Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Colorado. Previously, he served as controller at three other Colorado-based properties, as well as the Portofino Hotel and Yacht Club in Redondo Beach, Calif. and the Paradise Point Resort and Spa in San Diego. He began his career as the manager of sales and tax rents for the Chicago-based Follett Higher Education Group after receiving a BBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Iowa. Furumoto also is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Surrounded by avocado and citrus groves, the Pala Mesa Golf Resort is located in Fallbrook, Calif., near San Diego. The property is situated on 205 acres and features one of Southern California�s most challenging golf courses, an 18-hole, par 72 layout rated 4-½ stars by Golf Digest Magazine.
