A Wingate by Wyndham® Being Developed in Chihuahua,
Mexico,
the Brand�s First Hotel in Mexico

2008) - Wyndham Hotel Group today announced an agreement to develop a Wingate
by Wyndham® hotel in Chihuahua, Mexico, which will become the brand�s
first property outside of the United States and Canada when it opens later
this year.
The 137-room property is being developed by México-based Desarollos Juventud SA de C.V. on a prime, hilltop location on Periferico de la Juventud, 20 minutes from Chihuahua International Airport. The site is near one of the city�s premier shopping malls and convenient to night life and fine dining. The brand�s expansion into Latin America follows its affiliation with the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand, a move that enabled both chains to leverage marketing, sales and training and reach an expanded consumer base. �This is a natural evolution because the Wyndham brand already has a solid footprint in the Caribbean and Mexico,� said Bill Hall, Wingate by Wyndham brand senior vice president. �The brands complement each other, with Wyndham properties primarily in resort and center-city destinations and Wingate by Wyndham hotels in business markets. �The Wingate by Wyndham Chihuahua will be ideally positioned to accommodate business travelers to this growing market.� Hector Romero, chief executive officer of Desarollos Juventud SA de C.V., said, �We are proud to introduce the Wingate by Wyndham brand name in Mexico and believe it will attract a whole new group of travelers to Chihuahua as well as stimulate the city�s economic development.� The Wingate by Wyndham Chihuahua will feature 1,200 square feet of meeting space, 24-hour fitness and business centers, an outdoor heated pool, whirlpool spa and all of the brand�s signature amenities including high-speed wired and wireless Internet access, complimentary breakfast, a 24-hour business center and modern fitness facilities, all included in the room rate. The property is near two of the city�s key industrial parks and its
financial and business districts. The city of Chihuahua, the state capital
of the Mexican state of Chihuahua, is known for its large service sector
including tourism, banking and high-tech enterprises.
