2008 Officers and Board Members Elected for the
Daytona Beach Florida Area Hotel Association

DAYTONA BEACH, FL � February 6, 2008 � The Hotel Motel Association of Volusia County announced today its newly elected officers and board of directors for 2008. Bob Davis will serve as President / CEO of the Association and Sharon Hughes, General Manager of the Hampton Inn in Debary, Florida will serve as the chair of the Board of Directors.

The election occurred at their annual board meeting in December that was held at The Shores Resort and Spa in Daytona Beach Shores. Daytona Beach, Mayor Glenn Ritchey was the speaker and Volusia County Council Chair, Frank Bruno, swore in the Board of Directors. 

Other officers elected included Gary Brown, Sun Viking Lodge as 1st Vice Chair, Manoj Bhoola, Elite Hospitality as 2nd Vice Chair, Steve Farley, Inn on the Beach as 3rd Vice Chair, Jo Smith, Sleep Inn Ormond Beach as Secretary and Carla Quann, Recording Secretary.

The Hotel Motel Association of Volusia County represents over 10,000 rooms and 43,000 employed in the hospitality industry in addition over 150 allied members with more than 15,000 employees. 

The Hotel Motel Association of Volusia County is part of a coalition, which includes The Greater Miami & Beaches Lodging Association and Palm Beach Lodging Association. Combined they represent over 100,000 room and 150,000 employees in the State of Florida.
