HTNG 2007 European Member's Conference Finalizes

CHICAGO (October 1, 2007) � Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG) announced today that its second annual European Member�s Meeting and Conference will feature presentations from leading experts on software security, data privacy, social media, RFID and near field communications. It will also include a session in which several hotel CIOs report on their experiences and challenges in implementing next-generation converged networks in hotels, and a session led by a luxury hotel company executive on achieving vendor cooperation to implement next generation technologies. The conference, to be held from October 8 through 10 in Lausanne, Switzerland, is the largest standalone hotel technology conference in Europe. Last year, the first conference drew more than 150 industry leaders from 28 countries, and preregistration levels suggest that this year�s attendance will be even larger. Like all HTNG conferences, the European conferences will also include extensive briefings on the progress of HTNG�s working groups in designing and implementing next-generation technologies, interface standards, and best-practices guides. Thought Leadership Program Speakers HTNG�s innovative Thought Leadership Program was designed to help keep industry technologists better informed of important trends in the broader technology industry, and of emerging best practice techniques for technology implementations in hotels. Six Thought Leadership sessions with world-class speakers are included in this year�s Conference agenda: � Software Security: One of the world's leading experts on software security, Gary McGraw, will provide practical steps for putting software security into practice, and discuss how proper security design can facilitate regulatory compliance. Dr. McGraw, Chief Technology Officer of Cigital, Inc., is the author of six best-selling books on this topic, including Exploiting Online Games and Software Security. He has written more than 90 scientific papers, hosts the Silver Bullet Security Podcast, and authors a monthly security column for darkreading.com.About Hotel Technology Next Generation The premier technology solutions association in the hospitality industry, HTNG is a self-funded, non-profit organization with members from hotel and hospitality companies, technology vendors to hospitality, and other industry members including consultants, media, and academic experts.
