Michael Newman as Director of Sales & Marketing

NY) � Millennium Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the appointment
of Michael Newman as Director of Sales & Marketing at Millennium UN
Plaza, New York. Bringing more than a decade of hospitality sales and marketing
experience to his new position, Newman oversees all sales, marketing, catering
and convention services at the 427-room hotel located in the pulsing global
heart of Midtown on Manhattan�s East Side.
�We are thrilled to welcome Michael to the Millennium team here in New York,� said David Renker, who also recently joined Millennium Hotels & Resorts as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. �One of the first rules of sales and marketing is �know your market,� and Michael�s hands-on experience in the city and its surrounding area will prove a great asset to Millennium�s U.N. Plaza hotel and our brand.� Newman comes to Millennium from Doubletree Guest Suites-Times Square, where he led sales efforts for the only all-suite hotel in the bustling tourist center of New York City. Previously, he enjoyed a 12-year tenure with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, including as Director of Sales & Marketing at Grand Hyatt New York; Director of Sales & Marketing at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City, New Jersey; and various managerial sales posts at Hyatt properties in the Washington, DC, area. A native of Long Island, NY, Newman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality Management from Johnson & Wales University in 1994.
