Manga Hotels Building a 224 room Hilton Garden Inn at the Toronto Airport; The First
LEED Certified Hotel in Canada Will Cost an 5%-7% Over Traditional Construction



November 9, 2007 - On November 1, 2007, by breaking ground the New Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport raised the stakes in the competitive Toronto lodging industry. Sukhdev Toor was proud to showcase what is the first new construction LEED certified hotel in Canada. "Going green is investing in our future, and in our children�s future", said Toor. The project demonstrates a commitment to sustainability through water savings, energy efficiency, material selections, and environmental health. Toor said that it was his own children who heavily influenced him into going green. 

Of those in attendance was the Mayor of Mississauga, the Hon. Hazel McCallion. "This is a first in Mississauga, and we are proud to have Dave and Manga here" said McCallion, "We must focus on sustainable development if we wish to protect our environment" McCallion commended Toor for his leadership, good corporate citizenship, and commitment to the environment.

�The LEED certification will cost an estimated 5%-7% over traditional construction� stated Toor, whose company has had many firsts in the industry. Manga has always been an innovator in the industry, �we take risks others are not willing to take� said Toor.  The excitement is not limited to the Airport area alone, Manga is developing three LEED certified hotels downtown Toronto which are; Aloft by W, Element by Westin (Part of Starwood Hotels) and the Hampton Inn & Suites.

The 15 storey Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Airport is slated to open in October 2008, and will offer 224 upscale guest rooms and luxurious suites, Great American Grill Restaurant, and 4200 sq/ft of Banquet and Meeting Space. 

Mississauga, Ontario based Manga Hotels currently owns and operates 10 hotels, with 4 under development. Manga Hotels is affiliated with brand such as Hilton, Marriot, Intercontinental Hotels and Starwood Hotels.
