The Hotel Association of Greater Dallas Recognizes Individuals, Hotels, and Companies for
Contributions to the Hotel Industry; Joe Palmieri, GM at the Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre,
 Awarded General Manager of the Year for Full Service Hotels

DALLAS- November 19, 2007 - -It was an evening of fun and celebration on Saturday, November 10 as hoteliers from across North Texas gathered to honor the hotel industry�s top performers over the past year. The event was Hotel Association of Greater Dallas inaugural HOSPY�s Award Gala held at the Hilton Anatole Hotel Dallas. 

The hotel association�s �HOSPY� award recognizes the contribution of an individual or organization to the industry over the past year. 

Top awards of the evening went to: 
 

Maura Gast, the President of the Irving Convention & Visitors Bureau, who was awarded the Friend of the Industry Award for her support of the hotel Industry and work in promoting tourism to North Texas; 
Joe Palmieri, General Manager at the Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre, who was awarded General Manager of the Year in the Full Service Hotel Category, and 
Gail Jackson, General Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn DFW South, who was chosen General Manager of the Year in the Select Service Hotel Category. 

�This is a night where we celebrated those who have helped make the North Texas hotel industry one of the best in the country,� said Brooke Dieterlen, executive director of the Hotel Association of Greater Dallas. �It is through their efforts, which are made on a daily basis, that Dallas and North Texas area remain one of the top places to visit or hold meetings.� 

In all, Fifteen �HOSPY� awards were presented to individuals, hotels, and companies recognizing their contribution to the hotel industry over the past year. The award winners were: 
 

Friend of the Industry: Maura Gast Irving Convention & Visitors Bureau 
General Manager of the Year (Full Service): Joe Palmieri, Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre 
General Manager of the Year (Select Service): Gail Jackson, Hilton Garden Inn DFW South 
Hotel of the Year(Full Service): Hilton Anatole 
Hotel of the Year (Select Service): Hilton Garden Inn Allen 
Hotel Chef of the Year: Gianni Santin, Hotel Crescent Court 
Allied Partner of the Year: Schepps Dairy 
Concierge of the Year: Ken Ramsey, The Fairmont Dallas 
Manager of the Year: Luz Puentes, Doubletree Hotel Dallas Galleria 
Administrative Person of the Year: Amy Harris, Marriott Quorum by the Galleria 
Food & Beverage Person of the Year: Hugo Reynoso, Mansion on Turtle Creek 
Housekeeping Persons of the Year: May Than Da and Ko Ko Latt, W Hotel Dallas Victory 
Bell Person of the Year: Phillip Johnson, Adolphus Hotel 
Maintenance Person of the Year: Larry Parker, Adolphus Hotel 
Front Office/Guest Services Person of the Year: Kevin Holder, Embassy Suites Love Field. 

Title sponsors of the event were American Food Service and Il Paese, The Wine with a Passion. 

The Hotel Association of Greater Dallas is one of the largest local hotel associations in the country representing more than 35,000 rooms in the market. Established in 1926, the association works to promote the interests of the hotel community in North Texas.
