Benchmark Hospitality's Cheyenne Mountain Resort
Awarded Four Diamonds
.
First Time in Resort's History
.

The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, November 1, 2007 - Benchmark Hospitality International has announced that Cheyenne Mountain Resort, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has been awarded Four Diamonds for 2008.  This is the first time the resort has achieved this status, presented by AAA, and which is highly regarded by the traveling public.

"I am extraordinarily proud of each and every one of our employees," said Vice President and General Manager Laura Neumann. "They made the commitment as a team to achieve this noteworthy recognition for Cheyenne Mountain Resort and worked tirelessly for that goal. They even exceeded expectations by earning Five Diamond scores in some areas of service execution."

The Cheyenne Mountain Resort staff underwent Benchmark's intensive Four Diamond Standards and Service Training, which was invaluable in understanding what steps are required to elevate Cheyenne Mountain Resort to a Four Diamond level, explained Neumann. "Our staff applied that education, established a consistently higher level of service delivery, and now work to delight every guest at Cheyenne Mountain Resort with their gracious service."

Upcoming improvements and additions to the resort's facilities also were a factor in earning four diamonds. A $6 Million renovation program, planned for the spring of 2008,  will include refurbishing public areas, guestrooms, meeting space, restaurants and lounges.  The resort's renovation program will showcase an indigenous mountain resort theme, which has been designed to project the rugged charm of the Colorado Rockies, highlight the resort's expansive mountain views, and capture its inspiring setting nestled in the foothills of the Rockies.

Approved properties are listed in AAA's popular TourBook® guides, which are offered free to members, in print and on the web site, www.AAA.com.  The Diamond ratings are featured in these listings to facilitate travel decision making.

The Diamond Rating System of AAA is one of the most respected restaurant and lodging rating systems in the industry. A Four Diamond rating informs customers about the quality of facilities and service. Earning a Four Diamond rating means that a hotel or restaurant has undergone and successfully passed a rigorous evaluation process.   AAA evaluates more than 57,000 properties nationally each year.

As North America's largest motoring and leisure travel organization, AAA provides over 50 million members with travel, insurance, financial and automotive-related services. Since its founding in 1902, the not-for-profit, fully tax-paying AAA has been a leader and advocate for the safely and security of all travelers.

Set on 217 lush acres, Cheyenne Mountain Resort features 316 beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites, each with a private balcony with mountain and golf course views; 40,000 square feet of meeting and event space; a championship Pete Dye-designed golf course; five swimming pools; 18 tennis courts, squash and racquetball courts as well as a pro shop; Health & Fitness Center; Aquatics Center, and a 35-acre recreation lake where guests enjoy sailboards, canoes, kayaks, paddleboats, volleyball on a sand beach, and catch-and-release fly fishing (the lake is stocked with big German Browns and rainbow trout).
