Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico (December 18, 2007) -- Opening January 21, 2008 and already a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Casa Dorada Los Cabos, Resort & Spa promises to bring a new level of service, style and amenities to the heart of Cabo San Lucas. Located on popular Playa Médano within walking distance of its renowned dining, shopping and nightlife, Casa Dorada has 186 deluxe ocean-view rooms and suites including thirteen penthouse suites which face Caboís iconic Land's End Rock.
Inspired by the East and the West, the 7,000-square- foot Saltwater Spa features unusual offerings such as a Chinese Balls Stimulating massage that uses special metal balls, used in rhythmic movements that release tonal vibrations for physical and emotional equilibrium. Other distinctive treatments include the saltwater ritual that guests receive with each service and the Couleur de Vie, combining color therapy, aromatherapy and thalassotherapy (salt water).
The hotelís 12 Tribes restaurant is inspired by the legendary 12 Tribes of Israel. Executive Chef Fabian Rios has sourced close to 400 ingredients from 30 countries to craft an irresistible selection of dishes inspired by the cuisines of Spain, Romania, Turkey, France, Germany, Italy, Egypt, Hungary, Tunisia and more. The 80-label wine list, heavy on New World wines, includes 20 Mexican vintages from top boutique producers.
Entertainment is in the offing at B lounge, also featuring 50 different beers, including a custom mango-flavored brew. Fashionable yet comfortable for families, friends getaways and honeymooners alike, Casa Dorada also features an air-conditioned beachfront restaurant, private Beach Club and three swimming pools.
Casa Dorada's low-rise buildings frame courtyards and pools meandering through five acres beside the Sea of Cortez. Acclaimed Miami interior designer Adriana Hoyos melded global and Mexican accents in a brown, cream and white palette to enhance the natural setting. Guestroom marble bathrooms have whirlpool tubs and separate showers while some feature adjacent makeup areas. All rooms have goosedown comforters, plasma screen satellite TV, complimentary wireless Internet, ceiling fans, multiple telephones, electronic safes, and kitchens or kitchenettes.
Lavish penthouse suites ranging from 2,000 to 4,500 square feet have multiple bedrooms, living spaces, kitchens and furnished terraces and balconies. Amenities include cordless phones, several TVs, ocean-facing Jacuzzis and walk-in closets. Upon request, resort chefs prepare gourmet meals in the penthouse kitchens.
The Spaís fitness studio offers a high-impact floor, state-of-the-art Precor equipment and iPod docking stations. The cold plunge pools, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi all highlight the spaís amenities and desire for guests to linger after services are complete. Pilates and yoga classes are held in the spa's upstairs garden
Located in the middle of the action on Playa Médano, the Casa Dorada Beach Club offers day beds, water sports and a spa cabana. Casual dining is offered at Maydân serving buffet breakfast, pizzas, ceviches and a catch of the day displayed in a fishing boat on the beach, giving diners a chance to choose entrees straight from the sea.
Other diversions include a children's club and pool, two winding pools and a swim-up bar with TVs, and countless land and sea adventures including deep-sea fishing, horseback riding, snorkeling, and golf at Cabo's famed championship courses. To celebrate its opening, Casa Dorada will offer several imaginative packages including boat trips to view magnificent migrating gray whales.
