Sage Hospitality Names Peter Psihas Director of Sales and Marketing
for THE BLACKSTONE, a Renaissance Hotel, Chicago


Chicago, IL �September 19, 2007- Sage Hospitality Resources, the Denver, Co -based hospitality company that is renovating -- and will manage -- The Blackstone, a Renaissance Hotel has appointed Peter Psihas as the director of sales and marketing.

Brad Robinette, senior vice president of revenue growth services at Sage Hospitality Resources, described Mr.Psihas, whose 18-year long career in hospitality started at the Chicago Marriott Downtown, as an ideal fit for the The Blackstone: 

�Peter Psihas brings a wealth of knowledge in the hospitality industry and an outstanding reputation of sales and marketing innovation to the table,� said Mr.Robinette, �coupled with a passion for exceeding guest expectations and a commitment to creating a uniquely Chicago experience at The Blackstone.�  

In his position, Mr. Psihas will be responsible for developing and implementing the pre- and post opening sales and marketing programs for The Blackstone. 

Most recently, Mr. Psihas served as director of group sales at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott. In addition, he has held executive sales positions at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, Ritz-Carleton, Marina Del Rey, Marriott Rancho-Santa Barbara and Marriott-J.W. Century City. Among the professional awards Mr. Psihas has earned is Property Sales Team of the Year-2006: LAX Airport Marriott. Mr. Psihas has also led his sales teams in a variety of community service initiatives including Habitat for Humanity and Beach Clean-Up Day for the Surfrider Foundation. A graduate of Saint John�s University in Collegeville, MN, Mr. Psihas holds a B.A. in English.
   
Sage�s $112 million renovation of the long dormant, 23-story, Beaux-Arts Blackstone Hotel into a luxury Renaissance hotel is scheduled for completion later this year. Located on Michigan Avenue, in the heart of Chicago�s arts and theatre district, The Blackstone will feature 332 stylish guest rooms, 12 sumptuous suites, 13,230 square feet of meeting space, a health club and business center as well as an ambitious visual arts program featuring \original works by contemporary Chicago artists. A street level Starbucks Café with outdoor seating will serve hotel guests, the local business community and neighborhood residents. 

The Sage Restaurant Group will also open and operate a signature destination restaurant at the Michigan Avenue location. Inspired by Barcelona�s fresh markets, Mercat a la Planxa will offer diners tapas and chops-- a fusion of traditional Catalan cuisine with a modern twist in a richly colored and artful setting overlooking Grant Park and the lakefront.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the former Blackstone Hotel was celebrated as the �Hotel of Presidents� and played host to countless celebrities including Katherine Hepburn, Tennessee Williams and Paul Newman before it closed its doors.
