Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Negotiates with Great Wolf Resorts to Develop
an Indoor Waterpark Resort on Tribal Lands in Southeastern Connecticut
.

.
MASHANTUCKET, Conn.- September 20, 2007 - The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has executed a letter of intent with Wisconsin-based Great Wolf Resorts, Inc.®, North Americas leading family of indoor waterpark resorts, to develop a Great Wolf Lodge® resort.

The publicly traded company (NASDAQ: WOLF) operates nine family-oriented resorts in six states and Canada under the brand names Great Wolf Lodge and Blue Harbor Resort. Inspired by the spirit and adventure of the northwoods, Great Wolf Lodge resorts are first-class, full-service, family destination resorts that provide a comprehensive package of family entertainment and lodging amenities including: all-suite guest rooms; an indoor entertainment area that features an indoor waterpark, a childrens craft and activity room focusing on edutainment, an interactive adventure game, an arcade with ticket redemption, a themed, interactive 18-hole outdoor miniature golf course, a tech center with Internet stations and movie and musical entertainment, adult and kid spas, a fitness center; and multiple food outlets including themed family restaurants, a confectionery café, a Starbucks® coffee shop, a Pizza Hut Express®; and a gift emporium; outdoor pool area; and an animated clock tower.

We have been talking for some time about the exciting prospects the tribe has in bringing taxable development to the communities surrounding the reservation, said Tribal Council Treasurer Rodney Butler. This popular family-oriented resort will add a whole new dimension to our existing resort. It will also mean a giant step forward to reach the tribes long-desired goal of making what we have into a true destination resort.

Butler, who has been working on the project on behalf of the Tribal Council, declined to specify the desired location of the waterpark and hotel.

We obviously have a preferred location under consideration, but we have other options available to us as well, he said. This information will become known as the process continues on its way to approval.

In recent months, the tribe has worked with local government leaders in an effort to establish land use regulations that would permit the kind of development in neighboring towns that would produce significant benefits to those who now visit Mashantucket and to those who will be coming to visit a Great Wolf Lodge.

We are committed to working with our neighbors in a mutually cooperative effort to bring quality developments such as the one we are proposing here, said Butler. This is a taxpayer-friendly proposal, and we think people will see it that way.
