Industry Veterans Richard Reyer and Dick Wheeler Introducing New Ring in Hospitality

Bittel USA taps the talents of hospitality telecom experts to spark awareness of its
guestroom telephone solutions; Internationally-renowned phone manufacturer
making its debut in US hotel market

.
ROSEVILLE, CALIF. - SEPTEMBER 20, 2007 Richard Reyer and Dick Wheeler once again are making noise in the hotel industry, this time as VPs of sales for Bittel USA, a Roseville, California based distributor of guestroom telephones. With nearly 45 years of combined hospitality industry sales experience, Reyer and Wheeler plan to shake things up at the major hotel and management companies by introducing a New Ring in Hospitality.

Bittel USA brings a refreshing approach to the guestroom telephone market; a market which today is rather complacent and the products pretty dull, Reyer said. The new ring introduced by Bittel USA comes by way of new feature-rich telephones that are aesthetically pleasing and specifically designed for the needs of the hotel market. These telephones are attractive and affordable, and their features appealing by todays guestroom telephone standards.

Reyer said he was attracted to Bittel USA because of its range, approach and ability to seriously listen to the marketplace. Bittels research, development, engineering and production are all done in-house with no outsourcing, allowing them to react quickly. This is a distinct advantage, he said.

I look forward to delivering these new, customized guestroom telephones to my customers with whom Ive done business for many years and delivering them in considerably less time than our competitors, he added. If theres one thing Ive learned over the years, its that one size doesnt fit all. Thats why its so exciting to be ringing in change with Bittel USA and bringing with that change, a range of guestroom telephones with unique features that no other manufacturer can compete with it.

Wheeler said recent mergers and future acquisitions among existing US-based phone manufacturers has left the industry uncertain as to the stability of the hotel guestroom telephone market. That, coupled with poor service performance by these same players, has left the market hungry for change.

As the worlds largest manufacturer of guestroom telephones, Bittel has resources at its fingertips far exceeding the competition, Wheeler added. Firstly, because Bittel keeps the whole process in one location this allows Bittel USA to have more control, better pricing, and the ability to add fresh features by focusing on design and demand - something greatly lacking in guestroom telephones today. Secondly, the level of account management provided by The Richard and myself is second to none as we are dedicated to the hotel industry and the many fine people, that we are proud to consider our friends.

Reyer boasts more than 30 years experience as a supplier to the lodging industry, previously holding senior sales positions at Zenith, Hitachi and Telematrix. A well known figure in the hospitality industry, Reyer has been a participant in boards and committees such as the: Asian Hotel Owners Assn. Board of Directors, Americas Best Value Inns Board of Directors, American Hotel & Lodging Assn. Vendor committee, American Hotel Foundation Vendor Committee, and Cendant Vendor Advisory Board. He was honored with the Cecil B Day Award for service to the lodging industry.

Wheeler has been in Hospitality guestroom telephone sales since 1993. His start was with Teledex; holding the position of Eastern Region Sales Director where he managed several Area Sales Managers with direct responsibility for select corporate hotel brands, PBX manufacturer accounts, and many distributors and dealers.  He moved to TeleMatrix, and held a similar position as Eastern Regional Sales Director, before ultimately joining Bittel USA.

Richard Reyer and Dick Wheeler know the guestroom telephone market better than anyone else I can think of, said Lennart Thornros, Bittel USA President. They understand the needs of the hoteliers and recognize what will work well for them. I am very proud to have been able to attract these two gentlemen to represent our excellent product range.

I welcome Richard and Dick on board, confident that their impeccable reputation and good relations within the industry will greatly support the establishment of Bittel USA as the premier guestroom telephone supplier on the US market, he said.
