MINNEAPOLIS � July 26, 2007 � Torgerson Properties, a Minnesota-based
developer, owner and operator of hotels and restaurants, announces two
executive appointments in the areas of sales and marketing and facilities
maintenance. Lisa Giaimo has joined Torgerson Properties as vice
president of sales and marketing and Bob Smith has been promoted to vice
president of facilities maintenance. Both are newly created positions
for Torgerson Properties.
In her new role, Giaimo will lead and direct marketing and sales functions for Torgerson Properties. Smith will oversee facilities maintenance for Torgerson�s 25 hotels and 9 restaurants. �Torgerson Properties has experienced exponential growth since it�s inception in 1991,� said Mitch Peterson, president of Torgerson Properties. �Both Bob and Lisa will serve as part of our newly restructured and strengthened management team, adding specific talent and experience in their respective areas. This team is well poised to initiate and support our strategic and ambitious growth plans.� Giaimo has over 17 years of experience in the hospitality industry, starting her career as senior manager of nine hotels in Illinois with Motels of America. She then served as general manager of with Drury Inns in St. Louis, Mo. for four years before joining Choice Hotels International, where she served in various positions including franchise service director, director of field sales and marketing and senior director, franchise services for the Midwest. Immediately prior to joining Torgerson Properties, Giaimo was vice president of sales and marketing for CSM Lodging for over five years. She has a masters degree in management from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Mo. and a B.A. in communications from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Il. Smith joined Torgerson Properties in 1999 as campus chief engineer with over 13 years experience in facilities maintenance. Through his commitment to excellence and demonstrated proficiency, Smith proved invaluable to Torgerson Properties, making him a natural choice for his newly created role. Smith began his career at the Radisson Hotel St Paul as a maintenance engineer. After eight years of technical vocational classes, Smith earned a 1st class C boilers license, a universal refrigerant certificate and several other related certificates. Immediately prior to joining Torgerson Properties, Smith was named maintenance specialist and served as the lead engineer at the Radisson Inn Town Square. About Torgerson Properties
