ATLANTA (June 2007) The Regency Suites Hotel, the original boutique hotel in Midtown Atlanta, is proud to announce that Ms. Shannon Bryant, an administrative assistant with the hotel, recently was awarded the Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year Award in the small property size category. Shannon, a 28-year-old resident of Marietta, Georgia, has worked for Regency Suites Hotel since 2004, beginning as a front desk employee. She is married with one son. She was presented the national award on June 13 during the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) Stars of the Industry Awards luncheon. Only nine employees in the nation were recognized for outstanding accomplishments and exceptional service in the lodging industry. The awards, sponsored by U.S. Foodservice, were presented during the AH&LA Summer Summit at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. According to AH&LA, Shannon consistently dazzles her colleagues and hotel guests with her great attitude, bubbly personality, and reliability as a proactive, go-to team player. Bryant personifies Southern hospitality in its truest form, and uses her position as administrative assistant to assist guests and her colleagues in every way possible. We are extremely proud of Shannon, says Brenadette Salter, general manager of Regency Suites. She is a very special employee willing to go above and beyond for our guests. She works very hard to make every guest feel special. Many of AH&LAs partner state associations, including the Georgia Hotel and Lodging Association, choose their own employee award winners, which are submitted to the AH&LA for national judging. Making the decisions in this years competition were Jeff Higley, editor-in-chief, Hotel & Motel Management, Stefani C. OConnor, executive news editor, Hotel Business, and Edward Watkins, editor, Lodging Hospitality. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., AH&LA is the sole national association representing all sectors and stakeholders in the lodging industry, including individual hotel property members, hotel companies, student and faculty members, and industry suppliers. AH&LA provides members with national advocacy on Capitol Hill, public relations and image management, education, research and information, and other value-added services to provide bottom line savings and ensure a positive business climate for the lodging industry. Partner state associations provide local representation and additional cost-saving benefits to members. Combining elegant sophistication with residential comfort, the Regency Suites Hotel is located in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, near Atlantas best cultural, dining and shopping venues. As Midtowns original all-suite hotel, Regency Suites sets itself apart from the rest with an inviting, elegant and warm décor and personal service.
