Pre-Show Report - IH/M&RS, November 10-13, 2007 in New York City -
Over 1,250 Exhibitors, Over 40 Seminars

An emphasis on all things green, the return of Destination Design and two-day, cross-market access to Cultural Food New York will highlight the 92nd annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show® (IH/M&RS), taking place November 10-13, 2007, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The hospitality industry's leading marketplace will foster networking and new business opportunities between 1,250 exhibitors and 35,000 industry professionals, as the Show presents an expansive showcase of new products, trend-focused seminars by noted experts and industry events with key players.

THE MARKET

Exhibitors, organized into vertical market categories, will showcase the newest products and services available to the hotel and restaurant industries, including food & beverage, furnishings, technology, equipment, linens, amenities, tableware, cleaning and much more. The hospitality industry's most influential buyers from hotels, restaurants, purchasing companies, owner groups, design firms, catering and specialty foodservice establishments, equipment dealerships, casinos, resorts and more will discover what is new in the industry.

"The IH/M&RS has long-been considered the premier market for discovering everything new for the industry, and the tradition continues this year. From sustainable products and luxury amenities, to foodservice equipment and new technologies, there is something here for everyone. We're looking forward to another successful market, where attendees will be inspired by new products and compelling seminars." - Christian Falkenberg, Show Manager.

MARKET HIGHLIGHTS

New Sustainability Initiatives
In response to the growing sustainability efforts of the hospitality industry, the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show has partnered with the Green Restaurant Association and Green Lodging News to present education, new products and awards that support this trend. For the first time at the IH/M&RS, the Green Restaurant Association will present a Pavilion of sustainable products for the foodservice industry. Recognitions introduced this year will include the 1st annual Green Hotelier Award and Green Restaurateur Award. In addition, green categories will be introduced to the Editors' Choice Awards competition, recognizing the best eco-friendly new products launched within the past year in the categories of décor, essentials, luxury, restaurant and technology.

Destination Design
The International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show once again will serve as a top destination for hospitality designers, as Destination Design returns following a successful debut in 2006. The program - geared towards designers as well as property owners and operators - will feature a dedicated educational track, new resources within the Show's acclaimed Luxury Product Collection and networking with top designers at the Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design breakfast ceremony.

Cultural Food New York
A collocation with Cultural Food New York - featuring Expo Comida Latina, All Asia Food and Kosherfest - will add appeal to foodservice buyers of the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show, as the markets shift dates to coincide with the IH/M&RS on Sunday, November 11, and Monday, November 12. Presented by Diversified Business Communications, Cultural Food New York is expected to attract a total of 600 unique culinary exhibitors and 12,000 buyers, creating a combined marketplace with the IH/M&RS of 1,850 exhibitors and 47,000 attendees. The IH/M&RS and Diversified Business Communications will offer reciprocal access to buyers of all four shows for increased networking opportunities and additional specialty food resources for all participants.
