Casino Hotel -- the first permanent gaming location in the city and the
only locally owned and operated Detroit casino -- today unveiled a model
hotel room that that will introduce a whole new level of hospitality to
Detroit business and leisure travelers when the hotel opens this fall.
"MotorCity will provide a hotel product that is

unique guest experience with an uncompromised level of service."
First in Comfort Farag said that when the hotel opens this fall, the 400 ultra-comfortable and high-tech guestrooms, including 41 suites, will include some of the finest comforts offered in the region. A peaceful and relaxing stay is standard with amenities such as luxury bedding with 300 thread count imported bed linens, a pillow library, sumptuous towels and bathrobes, marble bathrooms with separate soaking tubs and showers, and live foliage. The rooms also feature a customized climate control system based on guest history and will alert room attendants when the room is occupied to keep interruptions to a minimum. The hotel interior decor compliments the "future retro" theme of MotorCity's expanded casino space which opened June 7, with maple and Makassar ebony woodwork, plush fabrics and muted ivory, gold and black hues which evoke a nostalgic twist on contemporary furnishings. Extraordinary Guest Service The multilingual MotorCity staff will offer a
superb guest experience with daily turn-down service, and several 24-hour
benefits including a concierge, laundry, and in-room dining. Same day pressing
service, a comprehensive, state-of-the art business center with secretarial
support, and complimentary WiFi in public areas will provide a personal
oasis with 24-hour connectivity. In addition, a full butler service will
be provided to suite guests, allowing the hotel to accommodate and anticipate
a full spectrum of guest needs.
MotorCity's $275 million expansion is changing the face of entertainment in the City of Detroit by offering a spectacular combination of entertainment, dining, banquet, spa and gaming options that draw on Detroit's automotive, music and sports heritage. In addition to the 17-story hotel, MotorCity is expanding its gaming space and adding a premium spa, convention and banquet space, a 1,200 seat theater, new retail and dining options and additional parking. Iridescence, Detroit's only AAA Four Diamond restaurant, will relocate to the hotel's top floor adjacent to a new ultra-lounge, Amnesia. Both will offer exquisite views of the Detroit riverfront and skyline while establishing MotorCity Casino Hotel as a unique and cutting-edge entertainment, conference and resort venue. MotorCity Casino, which first opened in 1999, incorporates the historic Wagner Baking Company building and has been under construction since 2006. The cornerstone of the Wagner Baking Company is being fully restored to its original condition circa 1915, preserving the signature feature of the 85- year-old Detroit landmark. |
