A well-renowned program of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI), this worldwide competition honors innovation, action-producing advertising, public relations and web marketing in hospitality, travel and tourism.  All entries must be submitted online at www.AdrianAwards.com.

In its 51st year, the program makes up the largest travel-related marketing competition of its kind, embracing every segment of the industry including hotels, airlines, attractions, car rental companies, casinos, convention centers, cruise lines, destinations, restaurants, and spas, as well as timeshare and extended stay properties and industry suppliers.  Last years Best of Show winners were Hilton Hotels, Royal Caribbean International and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
.
What and who are eligible to receive awards?

The competition is open to all travel-related industries. Work completed after January 1, 2005 is eligible for entry. Entries submitted in prior years may be resubmitted if the results of the campaign have changed significantly, or if additional elements have been added to the piece or program after January 1, 2005.

All entries are submitted online. Each entry must include a completed communications statement, including information on marketing objectives, target audience, research and planning, message, results, and budget. Supporting materials can be uploaded in a variety of electronic formats. To avoid entry problems, review file format and size requirements in advance. Click here for a full list of categories, file types, and upload specifications per category.

Entries may be submitted by travel industry organizations, advertising agencies, public relations firms, or any other type of communications professional; but entries must be submitted in the name of the organization for which the work was performed. The services of a public relations firm, advertising agency, or other promotional service may be used in the preparation and assembly of all entries.

Award winners may be asked to submit additional materials such as high-resolution media and a presentation board to be displayed at the gala. Failure to submit these materials will result in disqualification.

Best of Show is like winning an Oscar for your client, says Florence Quinn, president, Quinn & Co., whose agency received Public Relations Best of Show for both 2005 & 2006.

Winning a Platinum Adrian is wonderful validation from the voice for sales and marketing management in hospitality, notes Scott S. Williams, chief creative officer, senior vice president, Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

Peter C. Yesawich, chairman & CEO, YPARTNERSHIP, notes: Theres no more flattering professional recognition than that conferred by ones peers.  And, therein lies the thrill of winning an Adrian Award.

We have made great strides over the past few years to bring the competition and gala awards event to a higher standard, states Melanie Penoyar, CAE, director of development and awards competition for HSMAI.  One of our major initiatives this year has been to expand the web marketing offering to match with current trends and technologies utilized by todays top interactive agencies.
