New Publisher Responding to Industry Need for More Luxury Lifestyle Content

.

WINTER PARK, Fla. Aug. 28, 2007 Jay Nelson, group publisher for the travel division of Bonnier Corporation, today announced that the company is reinvesting in and relaunching its premier luxury travel publication Resorts & Great Hotels. Known as the connoisseurs guide to the worlds best hotels and resorts, the magazine will relaunch in January 2008 as a quarterly publication with integrated editorial content for the first time in the magazines history.

The luxury segment of the hospitality industry continues to expand and we wanted to evolve Resorts & Great Hotels to meet consumer demands, as well as the needs of our four and five star hotel partners, said Nelson.  Many customers view the publication as a wish book of vacation experiences. Now we are going to deliver these experiences more often with fresh editorial content about the luxury resort lifestyle.

After more than 20 years of presenting four and five star quality marketing partners such as The Plaza in New York City, The Inn on Biltmore Estate, Sundance Resort, The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, La Quinta Resort & Spa and many others in an annual directory format, the publication is evolving to offer participating hotels a more consumer focused sales and marketing option.

Quarterly Themed Magazines
Resorts & Great Hotels now will publish quarterly to provide consumers with fresh content four times a year that showcases properties in niche categories. The premier issue of the new Resorts & Great Hotels will feature One-of-a-Kind properties and is scheduled to be sold on newsstands beginning Jan. 15, 2008. Themed issues that will follow through early 2009 include Summer Getaways, Small Gems The Boutique Experience, Winter Escapes, and Best Beach Resorts.

Addition of Editorial Content
The editorial content in each publication will reflect the themes of the quarterly magazines. Originally a property profile only publication, the new Resorts & Great Hotels now will feature 36-48 pages of original editorial content that is designed to provide readers with insight into the upscale resort lifestyle. The cover story, departments and special sections are intended to draw readers into the publication to learn about the latest trends and news in luxury travel while providing a guide to the finest resorts and hotels in the world.

We are keeping the featured profiles that our readers and marketing partners love, but expanding to be more of an authority on the luxury resort lifestyle, said Nelson. The editorial content is designed to welcome readers to a private club and the editorial serves as the concierge at that club with insider knowledge and advice. The editorial is created to propel readers into the rest of the magazine to select their next trip from the featured collection of resorts and hotels.

Resorts & Great Hotels consistently ranks among the top performing travel titles in the industry. More than 100,000 copies of the publication will be distributed quarterly. The magazine is available at bookstores such as Barnes & Noble, Borders, B.Dalton, Waldenbooks and select airport newsstands. Subscribers of the publication include Fortune 500 executives, luxury travel agents, the media and top travel executives worldwide.

With the addition of editorial and frequency enhancements, Resorts & Great Hotels provides its hotel and resort partners with a turnkey solution for their sales and marketing needs. The publication will continue to offer its traditional property profiles however the sales team at Bonnier has designed a multi-platform marketing package to ensure properties stand out in the crowded luxury travel segment.

This cross-platform marketing package includes a one or two-page feature, plaque and logo for the property, inclusion in the reader response program, a special daily rate for professional photography and an enhanced online marketing package that includes an enhanced property profile, interactive photo gallery, special promotional tools and a live brochure presentation.
