Following an elaborate $46 million transformation of the property that formerly housed the Fort Worth Plaza Hotel, the Sheraton Fort Worth Hotel and Spa will include 430 guest rooms, 22,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space and a business center with wireless connectivity. Additional amenities will include on-site catering, two restaurants, and an 8,000 square foot full-service luxury spa and athletic center featuring a yoga room, Pilates studio and five treatment rooms.

Kristen Alderson, a hospitality industry executive with 22 years' experience, has been named general manager of the Sheraton Fort Worth Hotel and Spa, leading the executive team and directing the reconstruction and management of the hotel.

Under Alderson's guidance, architects, engineers, and designers will transform the 430 guest rooms to reflect Fort Worth's sophistication and warmth with fine interior finishes and lighting, contemporary artwork, and dark wood furniture. Warmly furnished guest rooms will include the extraordinarily comfortable Sweet Sleeper(sm) Bed, featuring Sheraton's exclusive plush-top mattress with down pillows, fine linens and custom duvet.

Additional amenities include a 32" flat panel HD televisions and high-speed wireless Internet access. Club Level accommodations provide further refinements, with private access to the Club Level Lounge where complimentary morning breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres and cocktails will be served.

Alderson has previously served in executive positions for RockResorts, Unique Hotels & Resorts' 11 hotels and resorts based in Scottsdale, Ariz.; Unique Hotels & Resorts, six hotels and resorts, New York; Bel Air Hotel Company's Historic Mission Inn and L'Auberge Del Mar Resort & Spa; Hotel Nikko at Beverly Hills, Dana Point Resort & Spa; and Alexis Park Resort & Spa, Las Vegas. Alderson was also contracted as a training consultant at Hotel Bel-Air to help the property regain the Mobile Five Star Award, which was achieved in the next qualifying year.
