|(Chicago, IL) May 23, 2007 – The House of Blues Hotel Chicago
(soon to be the Hotel Sax Chicago) welcomed Nanci Lynn Figueroa as its
new Director of Sales. In her official capacity, Figueroa oversees a team
of eight professionals on all local, regional and national sales and client
contact operations with various business sectors including corporate accounts,
travel trade, meeting and group business, catering and event planning.
In June 2007, a renovation of the House of Blues Hotel Chicago into the
Hotel Sax Chicago will be complete and the hotel transformed into one of
the premier luxury hotels in the city.
“Nanci has propelled numerous sales accomplishments during her tenure with the House of Blues Hotel,” states Mario Mazzini, General Manager of the Hotel Sax Chicago. “We are thrilled that she will continue to lead the team as we transition into the Hotel Sax Chicago.”
A desire to build client relationships initially led Figueroa to pursue employment within the hospitality industry. From the onset of her career, she began to establish herself as a premier sales person within the industry. Figueroa’s initiation into the business began in January 1997 when she was hired as the Senior Sales Manager for the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, a member of the Hostmark Hospitality Group. She was subsequently promoted to National Sales Manager in January of 1998 and to Director of Corporate Sales, a position in which she served from January 1999 to February 2001. Figueroa’s success led to multiple honors from the Hostmark Hospitality Group including the 1998 and 1999 Sales and Marketing Award and the 1999 WAY Award.
In 2001, Figueroa joined the Kimpton family of hotels as the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hotel Monaco. In 2003, she was promoted to Area Director of Sales and Marketing for Hotel Monaco and Hotel Burnham. A seasoned salesperson for the hospitality industry, Figueroa led the repositioning of both hotels and secured their position in the Chicago market through successful sales initiatives and partnership acquisitions.
During her tenure with Kimpton Hotels, Figueroa repeatedly exceeded annual budgeted room revenue and led the development of the Kimpton signature campaign, “We can juggle your needs.” She received the 2003 Award of Excellence, 2004 Leadership Award and the 2004 Steve Pinetti “Creativity Award” during her employment with Kimpton Hotels.
Extensive sales and hospitality experience led Figueroa to the management team at Hotel Sax Chicago and her extensive sales and hospitality experience will be integral to the successful opening of the Hotel Sax Chicago.
