Marla Preston, General Manager of the Radisson Plaza Hotel Saskatchewan, Regina,
Named the Brand's Top Manager in The Americas

TORONTO, ON. (May 23, 2007) – Radisson Hotels Worldwide honored its top-performing hotels and named a Canadian as its top General Manager at its Global Business Conference in Paris, France. 

Marla Preston, General Manager of the Radisson Plaza Hotel Saskatchewan, Regina, was named the brand's top manager in The Americas and was presented with the Esprit Award. This prestigious award is presented annually to the top manager, who establishes a high level of employee and guest engagement, is recognized for excellence in guest services, RevPAR and profit growth, and who is an active participant within the brand. 

“This award is a testament to the dedication and hard work that every member of our team brings to the hotel every day,” said Marla Preston. “The proof is in the fact that this was one of three important awards that our Regina Radisson Hotel took home from this year’s award ceremony.” 

Under Preston’s leadership, the hotel has received the President’s Award for its seventh consecutive year.  Joining the Regina hotel on the list for this award is the Radisson Hotel Kingston Harbourfront and the Radisson Hotel Laval. The President’s award-winning hotels excelled in property quality and cleanliness, property management, marketing and sales, leveraging the revenue generating tools of the brand and delivering total guest satisfaction.

The Radisson Plaza Hotel Saskatchewan, Regina, was also awarded the brand’s Guest’s Choice Award. In its inaugural year, this award recognizes hotels that deliver the best overall guest service noted by top scores from guests indicating that they would stay again, the lowest number of guest complaints, and overall responsiveness to guest concerns.

Under the management of Ms. Preston the Radisson Plaza Hotel Saskatchewan has attained the prestigious Four Diamond Award awarded by CAA/AAA every year since she joined the hotel in 1999. The Radisson Plaza Hotel Saskatchewan was awarded the Radisson ‘Pinnacle Award’ in 2004. Ms. Preston’s philanthropic interests have led to her participation in The Hospital Foundation of Regina, the YMCA, and the Canadian Cancer Society. She is also an active participant in Carlson Hotels Canadian Revenue Generation Committee.
Personally dedicated to the promotion of tourism within the province of Saskatchewan, Marla has acted on many provincial and city boards. 

At this year’s Global Business Conference the Radisson Hotel Kitchener also received the Renewal Reward recognizing an exceptional effort in hotel renovations completed in 2006 and the Radisson Hotel & Suites Fort McMurray received the Aspire Award, which recognizes the top hotels in year over year RevPAR growth.
