Stan Brown Selected as the New Executive Vice President
and COO of RockResorts and Vail Resorts Hospitality
BROOMFIELD, Colo., June 25, 2007 - Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: MTN) announced
today that Stan Brown has been selected as the new executive vice president
and chief operating officer of RockResorts and Vail Resorts Hospitality.
Brown will oversee and direct the company's entire lodging and hospitality
division, reporting to Chief Executive Officer Rob Katz. Brown will start
his new position on August 20, 2007, and will office in the company's new
corporate headquarters in Broomfield, Colo.
"Stan's national and international hospitality experience is exactly
what we need to continue delivering an outstanding guest experience throughout
our lodging and hospitality division. His expertise in overseeing every
aspect of resort hotel operations and seamlessly transitioning new properties
into a branded group of hotels makes him the ideal candidate for this position,"
said Rob Katz, chief executive officer of Vail Resorts. "Having delivered
outstanding performance in many of Marriott's best international resort
properties, he brings an intimate knowledge of how to deliver high-end
guest service to the vacation and business traveler. I am confident that

and hospitality division."
Brown has more than 26 years of hospitality experience in locations
throughout the world including China, Hawaii, Australia and Saudi Arabia.
He has been a part of ten different hotels and resorts, including five
where he was general or resident manager.
Since 2006, he has been the vice president, China, Malaysia, Vietnam,
Korea and the Philippines for Marriott International, Inc. located in Hong
Kong. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing operations, sales
and marketing, engineering, finance and human resources for 50 hotels across
many of Marriott's brands including JW Marriott.
While Brown has most recently been in China, his hospitality leadership
career began back in 1989 when he was appointed resident manager for Maui
Marriott Resort in Lahaina, Maui. In 1994, he assumed the position of general
manager for Jeddah Marriott in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he oversaw all
operations and supervised 500 employees. This experience led to his appointment
to general manager for Saigon Marriott in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in
1996, where he managed pre-opening responsibilities for the 280-room hotel.
Further expanding his international scope, he was selected as the general
manager for the Renaissance Sydney Hotel in 1998. Following his tenure
in Sydney, Australia, he was the vice president of Pacific Islands and
Japan for Marriott International, Inc. in Hawaii from 2000 to 2005, where
he oversaw 23 hotels in Hawaii, Guam and Japan and supervised more than
7,000 employees.
Brown earned his bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management
from Pennsylvania State University. He has a wife, Nancy, and two adult
children, RJ and Stan Jr.
