Division; Names Stephen Bello as Managing Director at
Hawk�s Cay
Resort in the Florida Keys
Westport, CT- June 07, 2007- Northview Hotel Group, formed by partners
Mark Mance and Simon Hallgarten in 2004, is celebrating three years of
growth with the launch of its new management division. NVHG Management,
led by President David Zeuske, will use a strong technology-based platform,
aggressive sales techniques and customer focused service standards to improve
guest satisfaction, reduce overhead costs and drive revenue to the bottom
line. NVHG management offers a range of services to its partners
including: financial management, sales and marketing support, revenue management
strategies, human resource assistance and strategic branding support. In
February 2007, NVHG Management took over management at Hawks Cay Resort
in the Florida Keys.
�This is an exciting achievement for us,� said Simon Hallgarten. �In
three years we have realized a number of our business goals, and with the
launch of NVHG Management we can now pursue our company�s growth through
acquisitions where there are opportunities for significant performance
improvements from both renovations and more focused hotel management.�
NVHG Management recently named Stephen Bello as Managing Director at
Hawk�s Cay Resort. Bello will assist NVHG oversee a $30 million renovation
set to begin in mid-August 2007. The renovation will include significant
enhancements to all public spaces, guestrooms, restaurants, amenities and
meeting rooms. The 177-room core hotel will suspend operations temporarily
from mid-August 2007, reopening with a new West Indies/tropical design
theme in late December 2007. The 297 villas, as well as select restaurant
and pool options, will remain open throughout the renovation. Following
the renovation, Hawk�s Cay will be one of the premier resorts in the Florida
Keys.
Northview Hotel Group is also celebrating the Grand Opening of the Renaissance
M Street Hotel in June, following an extensive $25 million renovation.
The hotel was purchased in October 2005 by a joint venture comprised of
Westbrook Partners and Northview Hotel Group. Northview provides
asset management services for the property, and oversaw all aspects of
the major renovation. Northview has also spearheaded efforts for
an additional two floors of hotel rooms at the property, for which entitlements
were preliminarily approved earlier in 2007.
Additional successes since 2004 have included the management of a $13.5
million capital improvement project for the Bethesda Marriott Hotel, during
2005/6. The property experienced an $18 increase in average daily rate
and a 4.1% increase in occupancy following renovations. Enhancements were
made to guestrooms, public spaces, meeting rooms, the fitness center and
the restaurants. Guestroom renovations include the Marriott Revive bedding
package, new carpeting, soft goods, and furnishings and completely refurbished
guest baths featuring elegant granite countertops and well-lit vanities.
The existing food and beverage outlets were combined to create Agio, a
contemporary, upscale restaurant serving authentic Italian cuisine for
breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Northview Hotel Group also provided due diligence, acquisition, takeover
assistance and management oversight for Westbrook�s acquisition of the
Hotel Washington in Washington, D.C., from January to June 2006. In addition,
between June 2006 and February 2007, NVHG was a partner with a major north-east
based real estate fund and Barclays Capital, involved in all aspects of
the acquisition and subsequent disposition of the former Renaissance St.
Thomas Hotel in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
