Westbrook Partners and Northview Hotel Group, LLC. Complete $25.2 million
Make-over of the Renaissance M Street Hotel, Washington D.C.
.
Washington, D.C. April 16, 2007- Renaissance Hotels & Resorts announced today the opening of the Renaissance M Street Hotel, following an extensive $25.2 million make-over.  The 355-room hotel, located at the corner of M Street and New Hampshire Avenue NW, has been converted from a Wyndham hotel to a Renaissance after completing a total redesign of its guest rooms, meeting space, great room lobby, restaurant and lounge to provide out-of-town guests and Washington locals a cozy and cosmopolitan oasis for business and pleasure.   The hotel was purchased in January 2006 by a joint venture comprised of Westbrook Partners and Northview Hotel Group.

We are delighted to be growing our relationship with Marriott International through the opening of the flagship Renaissance Hotel, said Paul D. Kazilionis, Founder and CEO of Westbrook Partners.  Thanks to its comprehensive renovation and Marriott affiliation, this property now provides one of the premier hotel experiences in the Washington D.C. area.

The hotel's front desk has been redesigned to welcome guests with a modern, inviting sense of arrival and a new, handsome lobby bar providing a cozy and chic retreat for business or pleasure with intimate seating areas offering the latest in wireless internet technology. The lobby bar sports two 32 HD plasma flat screen televisions and a large lending library of best-sellers and classics to make guests feel right at home.

We expect guests from all over the world and the residents of Washington, DC to indulge in the hotel as an escape to stylish accommodations; crisp, attentive service; distinctive meeting space and innovative culinary experiences, said Thom Puccio, Director of Sales & Marketing, Renaissance M Street Hotel. Our hotel proudly embraces the most up-to-date and cutting edge initiatives showcased by the Renaissance brand to engage guests who enjoy hotels with stimulating local flavor.

The hotel guestrooms include the new Renaissance bedding package.  Replacing the traditional bedspread with down comforters nestled inside sheeted duvets, the bedding will feature 300-thread count, cotton rich sheets; a four inch mattress topper accented with decorative pillow shams; bolster and decorative bed throw and bed skirt.

Satisfying the needs of the ultimate multi-tasker, each guestroom is equipped with a cutting-edge wall mounted connectivity panel that allows guests to simultaneously connect their iPods or MP3 players, digital cameras, video cameras, and laptops directly to the 32 HD plasma flat screen televisions.

Play music, surf the web and watch TV concurrently on the split screen.  All guestrooms also feature the ability to connect to internal laptop chargers in the in-room safes. Rooms also include bedside iPod clock radios and feature cordless, 2-line phones with data ports, high speed internet access and wireless capabilities, a rotating work desk, ergonomic chairs, pay-per view movies, weekday newspaper delivery, complimentary in-room illy coffee, hairdryer, ironing board and individual climate controls.

The meeting capabilities at the Renaissance M Street have experienced a complete re-birth, from the miles of fiber optic cabling serving guests most advanced technology needs to new audio and sound systems. We have innovated the hotels meeting space into the modern day from color, to feel, to technological capability, explains Puccio. All carpeting, wall coverings, chairs, linens, fixtures and food and beverage accoutrements have been redesigned to embrace the Renaissance brand commitment to stylish design with whimsical patterns, rich colors and imaginative accents.

New technology, such as fiber optic cabling, provides voice-over protocols for all phones (eliminating the need for telephone wire), wireless Internet access throughout the hotel and can accommodate a wide range of technological needs, from simplistic networking to comprehensive live-broadcasting connectivity. In addition, new Bose sound systems throughout all meeting space, great room and ballrooms provide a clear, digital sound quality.

In addition, an expanded fitness area will offer state-of-the-art equipment and a new Cardio Theater, featuring treadmills with personal viewing LCD screens. In 2008, the hotel is planning further growth, incorporating two new guest room floors and a rooftop pool.

The lobby bar invites both business travelers and Washington denizens a chance to relax with a refreshingly creative cocktail featuring a choice of 7 effervescent flavors of fizzies, the nostalgic flavor tablets popular with Baby Boomers in the 1950s and 60s.  Relax with a Lobby Lizard, Twilight Bluezzz, the Cherry Blossom or the Lemon Fizzie Drop, or take advantage of the extensive wine list and selection of bottled and draught beers. Satisfy happy hour hunger with Executive Chef Darren Anklams bar menu, with signature items including Asian Chips & Salsa, fried won tons served with a salsa of guacamole and tuna tartare, Foie Gras Lollipops rolled in toasted walnuts with apple chutney, and Truffle Tater Tots.

The Renaissance M Street Hotel unveils Washington DCs premiere location for an authentic Italian coffee experience: Caffè, boasting the acclaimed illy brand coffee and retail products (www.illy.com).  The hotels illy trained Coffee Sommelier and certified baristas provide guests with the finest premium single-blend of coffee for a warm signature Italian experience. Caffès glass-enclosed street side location, glowing illy signage and seasonal outdoor seating evoke the atmosphere of a bustling Italian Piazza. Consumers can enjoy an authentic Italian coffee preparation from one of the illy artist series cups in the great room lobby. They can also take a cappuccino to go, along with a can of coffee and a Francis!Francis! Espresso machine for their kitchen at home, from Caffes complete selection of illy retail products.

M Brasserie, the hotels bustling American bistro, offers superior and cosmopolitan service, quality and cuisine that rises above all others.  Chef Darren Anklams contemporary American fare amuses hungry dreamers with fresh takes on traditional dishes from dawn to dusk.
