 Matthew Vesely Appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for
The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester, in White Plains, New York

White Plains, NY (April 2007) --- Matthew Vesely, an executive with a 15-year background in international luxury hotel management, has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester, which is scheduled to open this fall in downtown White Plains.  A resident of Peekskill, he will serve as the liaison between the sales team and hotel management, and will manage the hotel�s business and group travel sectors, as well as its catering sales.

Mr. Vesely joined the world�s largest luxury hotel company six years ago. Most recently he was Director of Sales at The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach where he managed a 12-member staff and a $41 million budget.

Prior to coming to The Ritz-Carlton, Mr. Vesely spent 10 years in the luxury hotel business in London.  He was Director of Sales & Marketing at the London Marriott Park Lane when that hotel opened.  He also served four years as Corporate Sales Manager for The Churchill Inter-Continental and held sales management positions with The Grosvenor House and The Langham Hilton.

Mr. Vesely holds a degree in hotel management from Modul-International Hotel Management College in Vienna, Austria.  He has also completed numerous sales and leadership programs throughout his career.  He is a member of several trade organizations including Meeting Professionals International, Professional Convention Management Association, and National Business Travel Association.

�I am very pleased to be playing a role in the opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester,� Mr. Vesely said.  �This will be one of the finest hotels in the any suburban area of the United States.  We will be able to offer an intimate hotel environment with the rich array of services and amenities for which The Ritz-Carlton is so well known.  I look forward to living and working in the Westchester community,� he said.  He and his wife, Esther, have a son and are expecting a second child.  

Destined to set a new standard for hotels in this market area, the five-star, 123-room Ritz-Carlton, Westchester is expected to open in October 2007. The 10-story hotel will feature a 10,000-square-foot luxury spa and fitness center with large indoor pool, 10,000 square feet of meeting and special event space, a two-story glass �winter garden� restaurant fronting on Main Street, and a 500-seat ballroom. 

Guest rooms will offer an extensive array of amenities including 42� flat panel televisions, DVD players, remote control drapes, wireless Internet connections, dual phone lines and oversized bathrooms.  The lushly appointed rooms will feature Asian silk custom fabrics and rich textured veneers.  The hotel interiors are designed by Frank Nicholson, a prominent hotel designer.

The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester hotel will be flanked by The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Westchester, comprised of two 44-story luxury residential towers.  More than 90 percent of the 181 residences in Tower I, which will begin occupancy this fall, have been sold in just six months, making it the region�s best-selling condominium.  Sales recently opened for the 44-story Tower II that features 185 residences ranging in size from approximately 1,110 to 2,900 square feet and priced from $727,000 to $6,455,000. The 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom residences offer breathtaking views of Manhattan, Long Island Sound and the Hudson Valley.
