News for the Hospitality Executive
(April 23, 2007) – The Doubletree Hotel Denver has announced the completion
of an $8.2 million hotelwide renovation. Located between downtown
Denver and Denver International Airport adjacent to the incredibly, successful
community redevelopment project of Stapleton, this upscale, full-service
hotel has transformed its guest rooms, meeting space, dining outlets, recreation
facilities and much more. The 560-room Doubletree is managed by Hilton
“Our multi-million-dollar makeover will truly establish the Doubletree Hotel Denver as one of the premier upscale hotel choices in a dynamic and everchanging community,” said Mike Larson, hotel general manager. "Whether your next visit to Denver is for business, family vacation, a convenient ski trip or all of the above, our team members are proud to welcome residents, as well as travelers from around the world, to experience our reinvigorated Doubletree experience and warm Colorado hospitality.”
The spacious guest rooms and suites at the Doubletree Hotel Denver overlook the city skyline, the Rocky Mountains and the new urbanism of Stapleton. Each guest room has been transformed with a contemporary design scheme of rich colors and textures and dark woods that create an environment of classic comfort with modern elegance. Along with MP3 compatible, stereo clock radios and an upgraded in-room entertainment package, the hotel also offers the brand’s signature Sweet Dreams® by Doubletree sleep experience. This luxurious night’s sleep includes a plentiful amount of pillows, a luxurious linen package of a down-filled duvet wrapped in triple sheeting and a specially designed plush-top mattress and box spring system that helps ensure a great night’s sleep. Guest bathrooms have been dramatically redesigned to include upgraded lighting, new vanities with granite counters, framed mirrors and a curved shower rod that allows for 20% more space in the shower.
Conveniences for business travelers include large workspaces with outlets at desk height; ergonomic desk chairs; high-speed Internet access; cordless, dual-line phones; and virtual in-room printing services in every guestroom. Complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access (wi-fi) is available throughout the hotel for guests, along with a newly equipped, complimentary, 24-hour business center for those last-minute office needs.
The 10,000-, 5,000- and 2,000-square-foot ballrooms at the Doubletree Hotel Denver all have been upgraded to accommodate stylish special occasions and events of up to 800 with ease. The multiple meeting rooms in the hotel’s comprehensive collection of more than 30,000 square feet of meeting space are retrofitted with the latest in audiovisual technology, thereby making the Doubletree Hotel Denver ideal for conferences, seminars, executive meetings and training sessions.
Just like the city itself, the Doubletree Hotel Denver provides business and leisure travelers with a year-round, recreational area, including one of the largest indoor hotel swimming pools in the city, along with an outdoor whirlpool and sundeck. An upgraded Doubletree Fitness by Precor fitness facility has been upgraded with the latest in cardio, core and weight training equipment. Dining options now include a coffee bar that proudly serves Starbucks® coffee and quick snacks during peak hours and the Café Restaurant serves American cuisine in casual surroundings. Characters Sports Bar & Grill is the spot for food, entertainment and big screen sports, while the relaxing Lobby Lounge offers a quiet place to relax with cocktails and conversation. Room service is available during peak dining hours.
“We are proud that the Doubletree Hotel Denver represents another fantastic renovation as part of what has become a $750 million renovation resolution by hotel owners across the Doubletree brand,” said Dave Horton, senior vice president – brand management for Doubletree Hotels.
