 Future of Demand Modeling Is Focus of HSMAI
Revenue Management Strategy Conference

Event Will Be Held in Orlando, FL on June 25, 2007 in Conjunction with HITEC
 
MCLEAN, VA (April 12, 2007) � The date is set for the fourth Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Revenue Management Strategy Conference � June 25, 2007 in Orlando, FL at the city�s Convention Center.  Held in conjunction with HITEC and presented by HSMAI�s Revenue Management Advisory Board, the conference will feature a keynote address from Dr. Garrett van Ryzin, Professor of Business, Columbia University Graduate School of Business, on �The Future of Demand Modeling.�  
 
�A good model of demand is the heart and soul of a revenue management (RM) system,� says Dr. van Ryzin.  In his address, he will discuss what current methods do well and what important factors they ignore, and then look at how emerging concepts from academic research and leading-edge practices can overcome the limitations of current RM systems.  Additionally, he will examine how firms can strategically position themselves to take maximum advantage of emerging technologies.
 
�This is the ideal event for regional and senior hospitality professionals with direct responsibilities for revenue optimization and pricing, as well as key management members with an interest in staying ahead of the curve,� notes Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHA, president and CEO of HSMAI.
 
�Revenue optimization and pricing in the hospitality industry are changing, new models of demand are emerging, and enterprise solutions that leverage customer data are transforming the competitive landscape,� states Tom Buoy, senior vice president of distribution and revenue management at Morgans Hotel Group and chairperson of HSMAI�s Revenue Management Strategy Conference Planning Committee.  �This year�s HSMAI Revenue Management Strategy conference has been developed to help navigate these trends, and our hope is that attendees walk away from the conference inspired, finding value in the interaction with some of the leading professionals in the field of revenue management in the hospitality industry.�
 
The breakout sessions at the Revenue Management Strategy Conference will include Primer Sessions featuring overviews of �Condo Hotel Revenue Management� and �Casino Hotel Revenue Management,� as well as Technical Sessions on �Advanced Group Revenue Management� and �Incorporating CRM in the Revenue Management Process.�
 
A conference agenda highlight is the presentation by Dr. Jeffrey Beck, Professor, Michigan State University, on the findings of the �Updated Survey of the Revenue Management Profession in the Hospitality Industry.�   The program will also include a Sponsor Showcase, lunch, cocktail reception, opening and closing remarks, and Speed Networking � a dynamic format whereby attendees will meet with peers to gain an understanding of the revenue management issues confronting them.
 
The cost to attend the conference is $275 for HSMAI members and $435 for non-members, which includes a one-year membership to HSMAI.
