Jim Scherr Redeveloping the Vacant International Hotel in Downtown El Paso; 
Multi-million Dollar Effort Will Produce a 200 room Doubletree Hotel

EL PASO, Tex., March 22, 2007 – El Paso attorney and businessman Jim Scherr has announced the multi-million dollar development of a 200-room Doubletree hotel in El Paso, Texas. A construction commencement ceremony was held today, with completion anticipated in Spring 2009.

The Doubletree, which will be located in the heart of downtown El Paso, will be operated by El Paso-based Hotel Don Quixote LTD, under a franchise license agreement with Doubletree Hotel Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hilton Hotels Corporation. The hotel will be managed by Richfield Hospitality, Inc. F.T. James Construction, Inc. has been retained as the joint venture general contractor with Mitchell Carlson Stone, Inc., as the architect.

The Doubletree Hotel El Paso, a 17-story high rise in Downtown El Paso will boast 200 guest rooms, 6 meeting rooms, and a full-service restaurant with breakfast, lunch, dinner and 24-hour room service.

The Doubletree will be located five miles from the El Paso International Airport off I-10, on El Paso Street and Missouri Avenue. The address is: 600 El Paso Street, El Paso, TX 79901.  The hotel will be conveniently located near the El Paso Convention Center, Abraham Chavez Theater, the El Paso Museum of Art, the Natural History Museum, the El Paso Holocaust Museum, the Insights Museum and The Plaza Theatre.
