SynXis
Generates Over $2 billion in Revenue for Hotels in
2006 While Adding Thousands of New Customers .> Plans for 2007 include new product releases and a major investment in infrastructure to prepare for the continued growth in customers and transactions |
SOUTHLAKE, Texas, 19 January SynXis generated
more than $2 billion in revenue for their hotel customers in 2006 and processed
the highest number of transactions in its history. SynXis, the Sabre
Holdings (NYSE:TSG) business that provides reservation management, distribution
and technology services for hotels around the world, continues to attract
new customers at a record pace with their RedX
Distribution Management System and the revenue generating services used
by 8,400 hotels.
Contributing to this tremendous growth is SynXis ability to provide easy and seamless migrations and create instant success stories. SynXis has been able to grow quickly as the majority of their sales in 2006 came from multi-property deals with small and mid-sized chains such as Orient-Express Hotels with 35 properties, Executive Hotels & Resorts with 14 and The Peninsula Hotels with 7. We recently switched to SynXis for the superior technology of their products. The migration to RedX was seamless and SynXis was able to improve upon our current property information to make our hotels more marketable in the different channels, commented Hanif Mawji, Chief Financial Officer of Executive Hotels & Resorts. We were particularly impressed with their responsiveness during the transition process. SynXis listens and works with their customers on continually enhancing their system, said Michael Sherwood, Vice President of Revenue Management for Larkspur Hospitality which owns and operates 20 properties in California and the Pacific Northwest. RedX is easy and flexible and allows us to set a variety of rate and inventory restrictions resulting in an increase of market share year over year. With no end to the growth in sight, SynXis is making a major investment in its infrastructure to handle the increased load on their system with $8 million planned to be spent in 2007. SynXis also has the most aggressive development schedule of any CRS provider having had 12 major releases in the past 2 years, with 4 more planned releases in 2007 guaranteeing their users are receiving innovative products at a fast pace. Plans for 2007 include:
