Les Pedersen Named Director of Sales and Marketing
for Resort at Squaw Creek Near Lake Tahoe

SQUAW VALLEY, USA � Jan. 16, 2007 � Andy Anderson, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Destination Hotels & Resorts, announced that Les Pedersen has been named director of sales and marketing for Resort at Squaw Creek. The property is one of 30 hotels and resorts in the company�s collection of upscale hotel and vacation rental properties. 

A 25-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Pedersen joins Resort at Squaw Creek from the Westin Resort & Spa in Whistler, B.C., Canada, where he served in the same capacity for the 419 all-suite luxury resort.  His wealth of resort experience also includes six years as director of sales and marketing for The Silvertree Properties in Aspen/Snowmass, Colo., and progressive sales positions with Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tenn. and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

A Colorado native, Pedersen is a graduate of Denver University and also studied abroad at Institut d�Études Européens in Paris.

Pedersen will oversee all of Resort at Squaw Creek�s sales, public relations and marketing components, to include its leisure and group business, spa, five restaurants, retail shops, special events and selected winter and summer recreation offerings.

He is an avid skier and mountain biker who also enjoys rock climbing.  Pedersen, 48, is relocating to the Squaw Valley area with his partner, Jamie, and his Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Abe.

Resort at Squaw Creek � located at the base of Squaw Valley, with North Lake Tahoe�s sole on-property chairlift providing guests ski-in, ski-out access � recently completed a near $55 million renovation of its lobby, conference facilities, restaurants and spa, as well as 405 guest rooms and suites.  For the fourth consecutive year, the resort recently was voted one of the �Top 50 Ski Resorts in North America� by readers of Condé Nast Traveler.
