Brand shows aggressive development in 2006 with the opening of 96 hotels |
MEMPHIS, Tenn., January 11, 2006—Hampton (www.hampton.com),
the
national brand of more than 1,350 mid-priced Hampton Inn® and
Hampton
Inn & Suites® hotels, has opened eight properties in December
2006—representing
759 new rooms. The new openings include two Hampton Inn hotels
and
six Hampton Inn & Suites properties. All openings are
franchised
newly constructed hotels. “In 2006, we added 96 new hotels to our system, and we are looking to open more than 100 in 2007, setting a record for our hotel openings,” said Phil Cordell, senior vice president, Hampton brand management. “We plan to maintain this increased development activity for the foreseeable future. “Adding to our excitement in development this month is the opening of our 10th Hampton property in the province of Ontario, Canada—the Hampton Inn & Suites Guelph. With this international opening, we are able to celebrate another important milestone for Hampton development,” added Cordell. From a product development standpoint, Hampton recently announced it has achieved full implementation of its new bedding package, “Cloud Nine. The New Hampton Bed Experience,” which features a crisp, white duvet cover enveloping a plush 200-thread-count comforter, white sheets and the guest’s choice of down or foam jumbo size pillows. For consumers who would like to take their hotel room experience home with them, Hampton has a new program available online at www.hamptonhomecollection.com, where many of Hampton Hotels’ guestroom amenities are available for purchase.
