Courtyard "Reinvents" the Hotel Designed by Business Travelers in Arlington Heights, Illinois

WASHINGTON � January 9, 2007 � Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) announced that the 152-room Courtyard by Marriott in Arlington Heights, Illinois has recently completed a major renovation of its guest rooms, lobby and public spaces. The enhancements are based on feedback from hotel guests and are part of Courtyard�s nationwide hotel reinvention designed to meet the needs of today�s travelers.
 
�Courtyard was launched based on the needs and desires of business travelers and now we are reinventing the brand on the basis of new customer research and recent product testing. Our updated design concepts provide greater comfort and functionality to our guests,� said Laura Bates, senior vice president, brand management, Marriott International.
 
The new guest rooms and public space have been upgraded with the addition of functional enhancements and new d�cor and furnishings. Practical additions such as The Market, a 24/7 food and beverage pantry and business library, featuring individual workstations with high-speed data ports and ergonomic chairs combine with aesthetic elements including the use of curved surfaces, rich woods, designer fabrics, granite counters and superior lighting.

Courtyard Guestroom Enhancements:
Room Improvements � A desk on wheels has been added to provide increased workspace. The desk also doubles as a table that can be moved to eat or work in front of the TV. In addition, new task lighting has been added, extra power outlets are conveniently located at desk level and a coffee station with granite countertop has been installed.
New Beds and Linens � The new bedding package is more comfortable and more inviting with a thicker oversized mattress and enhanced linens, including duvets, new comforters and oversized pillows.
Bathroom Enhancements � The upgraded bathrooms have a modern, residential look with granite vanities, extra shelves, full-length mirrors and brighter lighting.
High-Speed Internet Access � Courtyard has made it a priority to offer travelers high-speed Internet access. Courtyard has more than 600 hotels in the U.S. and Canada that offer free high-speed Internet access in every guestroom. Many Courtyard hotels also offer wireless Internet access in the lobbies and public spaces.

Courtyard has also redesigned its lobbies and public spaces. In addition to the business library and The Market, a lounge area where guests can work, meet and dine in a relaxing setting has been added along with a front desk design that allows more guest interaction and personalized service at check in and check out.
 
Located 18 miles from O�Hare International Airport, 60 miles from Midway International Airport and one hour from downtown Chicago, the Courtyard Chicago Arlington Heights / North offers guests convenient access to Woodfield Mall, Long Grove Historic Village and Arlington Park Racetrack. Rates begin at $84 per night.

The four-story hotel offers guest rooms featuring either a king-size bed or two queen-size beds. Along with the features mentioned above, guest rooms offer a seating area with sofa bed or oversized chair, two telephones, a coffee maker, hair dryer, iron with ironing board, and a selection of most-favored TV channels, including a free premium movie channel. The Courtyard Chicago Arlington Heights / North also features eight suites with a king-size bed, refrigerator and microwave oven, and four with queen-size beds.

For group customers, the Courtyard Chicago Arlington Heights / North has two meeting rooms with 1,050 square feet of meeting space to accommodate small meetings and functions of up to 80 people. Other guest facilities and services include the Courtyard Cafe restaurant, serving breakfast, an indoor swimming pool with whirlpool spa, exercise room, guest laundry and business center.
