Jan Stuart Named DOS and Daniel Millaire Appointed
F&B Director at The George, Christchurch, New Zealand
27 February 2007 - The George, Christchurch General Manager, Bruce Garrett has announced the new appointments of two senior managers. The George was last month voted New Zealand's best hotel by US Conde Nast Traveler magazine in its prestigious 2007 Gold List.

Jan Stuart has joined The George as Director of Sales and Marketing. She has had extensive sales and marketing experience within the hotel industry, and comes to The George after 10 years at Chateau on the Park, Christchurch. Her background covers the conference and incentive, inbound and corporate markets.

Jan will be promoting The George's unique features as Christchurch's award-winning boutique hotel to the corporate, incentive and leisure markets throughout New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States and will continue to develop and broaden her existing relationships with inbound tour operators, travel agents and airlines.

Jan is passionate about the industry and is delighted to be joining the team at The George, where her role will also include focusing on brand standards, product imaging and overall responsibility for all revenue streams.

Daniel Millaire is The George's new Food and Beverage Manager. 

Originally French Canadian, he brings with him extensive and varied experience at all levels of operation in the industry and has most recently worked in Fiji and Norfolk Island as a Food and Beverage Manager.

Daniel's experience also extends to lecturing and training as a tutor at some of New Zealand's most respected hotel schools.

Daniel is passionate about wine and exciting cuisine. His areas of responsibility at The George will cover overseeing the operation of The George's award-winning restaurants 50 on Park and Pescatore, and the hotel's banquet operations.
