Townsend joined Innisfree Hotels in 1999, bringing over 20 years of experience in the construction field. He successfully renovated all of the hotels owned by Innisfree during his first three years with the company. Up until the past two years, he and his staff were involved in directing the continued maintenance and capital improvements of all Innisfree properties, as well as the development, project management and FF&E procurement of the 181 room Hilton Garden Inn on Pensacola Beach. Since then, Mr. Townsend’s focus has changed. He has created a development arm that concentrates on the land use, permitting, financing, and the execution of high rise condo and condo hotel projects. Mr. Townsend's professional role in the development aspect of a project involves preparing budgets and negotiating contracts with engineers, architects and general contractors. He is also involved in the process of acquiring proper zoning, building permits, and other approval requirements from local and state authorities. Prior to joining the staff at Innisfree, Mr. Townsend owned his own construction company. His past experience also includes serving as Project Manager with Seawind Developments for five years where he was responsible for the development of multimillion dollar projects. Mr. Townsend holds a degree in Building Technology specializing in building economics. He earned this degree from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. “We are very excited about Jeff’s role in leading Innisfree toward new development opportunities and under his guidance will certainly create value for our firm,” said Julian MacQueen, Innisfree Chairman and CEO. Innisfree has recently completed the $45 million Seawind Condominiums in Gulf Shores, AL and under Mr. Townsend’s leadership, the seventeen story Tower at the Pensacola Beach Hilton Gulf Front will open in May of this year. Innisfree has numerous parcels of land in the development pipeline that will allow Mr. Townsend to continue project work throughout the Gulf Coast including the Innisfree Jet Center at Pensacola Regional Airport.
