 The International Association of Conference Centers of North America
Elect New Officers; Neil Pompan Elected President
.
Saint Louis, MO - October 6, 2006 - At their recent meeting at The Charles F. Knight Executive Education Center in St. Louis, MO, the Board of Directors of the International Association of Conference Centers ( IACC ) of North America elected new officers for a two-year term beginning January 1, 2007. 

President: 
Neil Pompan, CMP, Chief Financial Officer of EMCVenues in Easton, Pennsylvania, was elected President. Pompan recently served as Second Vice President and has also served as Treasurer and on the Professional Development, Scholarship and Annual Conference Planning Committees. 

First Vice President: 
Tom Cappucci, General Manager of University Place Hotel & Conference Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, was elected First Vice President. Cappucci recently served as Treasurer and on the Professional Development, Scholarship, Annual Conference Planning Committee; he currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer of IACC Global. 

Second Vice President: 
Mike Taylor, General Manager, The Heldrich in New Brunswick, New Jersey, was elected Second Vice President. Taylor has served on the Board since 2002 as Chair of the Quality Committee and University Relations Committee.
 
Secretary: 
Peter Stockman, President, 3P Business Solutions in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, was elected Secretary. Stockman has been an active Board member where he has served on the Professional Development and Annual Conference Planning Committees. 

Treasurer: 
Tim Martin, Global VP of Facilities and Vendor Relationships for Duke Corporate Education in Durham, North Carolina, was elected Treasurer. He has served the IACC Board on the Quality and Annual Conference Planning Committees. 
 
Jeffrey V. Farina, Chief Development Officer of The Woodlands, Texas-based Benchmark Hospitality will serve a one-year term as Chairman of the Board. 
 
Celebrating the association's 25th anniversary, the Board of Directors renewed its commitment to promoting the conference center concept and to strengthening the differentiation between a purpose-built, distraction-free conference center environment dedicated primarily to meetings, and other meeting venues. The Board continues its dedication to strengthen IACC's stringent Universal Criteria and to provide the guidelines and tools to help all IACC member properties provide the best environment for meetings.
 
The International Association of Conference Centers, founded in 1981, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting understanding and awareness of the conference center industry. Active members meet a set of stringent Universal Criteria and agree to a Code of Ethics. Currently, the association includes approximately 400 members from the United States, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Sweden, France, England, The Netherlands, Germany and Japan.
