Interstate Hotels Completes $9 Million
Renovation of the Hilton Lafayette
.

Lafayette, LA, October 11, 2006 The Hilton Lafayette today announced the completion of a multi-million dollar renovation including a makeover of all of the hotels 327 guestrooms, meeting space, lobby and lounge.

With the completion of this major renovation, Acadiana now has a first-class hotel that will satisfy the needs of visitors to the Lafayette area.

This will positively affect the economy of Lafayette as many associations and corporations now have the option of an upscale hotel in the area, said Jimmy Thackston, General Manager. We appreciate the patience of our clients and guests, and we look forward to providing the same high level of service our guests have come to expect.

Thackston added that in addition to the long-term loyalty the Hilton Lafayette has encountered from its guests and employees, the hotel received the coveted Renovation of the Year award from Hilton Hotels Corporation.  The award specifically recognized the expertise of the staff in handling this project with little to no impact on our guests given the scope of the renovation, Thackston said.

From floor to ceiling, each guestroom has undergone a complete renovation to give guests the perfect mix of comfort and elegance.  Each guestroom now features the custom designed Suite Dreams® bed by Serta with fine European-style sheeting, Pacific Coast® down duvet and Super Topper mattress pads, and Pacific Coast® Touch of Down pillows.  To accompany the new bedding, the guestrooms feature new mahogany furnishings, leather ergonomic desk chairs, marble vanity tops, tile showers and flooring, bathroom fixtures and tub, telephone and voicemail system, and increased lighting in showers.

To complement the new guestroom décor, the hotel corridors and lobby have also taken on a new look: new carpeting, updated public restrooms, and new furnishings in several sitting areas.

The renovations continue into the 22,000 square feet of meeting facilities, which are outfitted with new wireless and audio-visual technology.  Maximilians, the hotels lounge where guests can enjoy a game of pool, hors doeuvres and dancing, also received a face-lift with new carpeting, furnishings, wall covering and lighting.

The Hilton Lafayette is located in the heart of Cajun country, just one mile from Lafayettes Oil Center and 10 minutes from all area attractions and corporations.  Nestled on the shore of the citys Vermilion River, the Hilton Lafayette is Acadianas premiere full-service hotel and conference center.  Visit the hotel on-line: www.lafayette.hilton.com.
