The Buccini/Pollin Group Holds Artful Grand Opening
Ceremony for Hilton Baltimore/BWI Airport
Hotel Contributes $10 of Qualifying Guests Stay to HCAT Institute Scholarship Fund

LINTHICUM, Md., November 9, 2006 - Officials of The Buccini/Pollin Group (BPG), a full-service commercial real estate and hotel development, acquisition and management company, today announced the Artful grand opening of the 280-room Hilton Baltimore/BWI Airport in Maryland.  The 280-room upscale hotel, the first Hilton in Anne Arundel County, is managed by PM Hospitality Strategies, Inc., a privately held management, development, consulting and accounting service provider.

The grand opening event featured a unique Outer Harbor Art Walk tour of the hotel featuring the works of more than 10 Anne Arundel visual and culinary artists, street performers and live musicians.   In addition to special works created for the grand opening, the hotel features permanent major works by well regarded Anne Arundel artists, including Phil Gurlik, Viki Keating, Lorraine Ellerson, Elizabeth Dax, Marie Linnekin and Lisa Masson.  A hotel must create a relaxing, home-like environment but on a much larger scale, said  Dave Pollin, BPG president.  We examined numerous Maryland artists before carefully selecting these works.  Participants in the Art Walk were invited to help create an original oil painting for the hotel with assistance from one of the participating artists.

As life is a series of journeys, so, too, was the creation of the hotel.  When we began the journey of designing the concept of the hotel, we wanted to establish a work of architectural art, both inside and outside the property, added Pollin.  We have brought in these local artists to help fulfill that mission and they have done an extraordinary job.  We have taken an abandoned steel fabrication facility and transformed the landscape into one of the premier, full-service hotels serving business and leisure travelers utilizing the BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport.  We believe the Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport will set a new standard for design, comfort and hospitality.

To fulfill its hospitality mission, the hotel launched a unique program to help visitors to the area feel more welcome.  We made a commitment to work with the community, beginning with making the area more welcoming, said Greg Miller, PMHS president.  We launched the Hilton Kindness Crew, a group comprised of hotel associates and students from Anne Arundel Community College who conducted a month-long campaign at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport that distributed kindness with free beverages and snacks, directions, shuttle service to any hotel in the area, and most importantly, a welcome and a smile, to visitors arriving at the airport.  In return, we asked the people pay it forward by doing a random act of kindness for someone else.  The program was so successful, we have decided to implement it at all future new hotels.

To build deep relationships with the community, the hotel created a special scholarship fund for tourism and hospitality program students at Anne Arundel Community College. We will donate $10 of each qualifying guests stay to Anne Arundel Community Colleges HCAT Institute through the remainder of the year, and will fund two permanent scholarships, Miller noted.

Located at 1739 W. Nursery Road in Linthicum, Maryland, the 11-story hotel is adjacent to BWI Airport and 10 miles from downtown Baltimore, the Inner Harbor, Camden Yards and other area attractions.  Hotel amenities include an indoor pool, a 4,000 square-foot fitness center and complimentary shuttle service to the airport and MARC and Light Rail service.

The hotel will offer one of the largest meeting facilities in the airport area with more than 12,000 square feet of meeting space, including the largest ballroom built in Baltimore in 15 years with 8,260 square feet of meeting space.  The hotel provides a professional audio visual staff on-site.

The hotels culinary artistry will be led by acqua, an upscale dining experience that features American cuisine influenced by Chesapeake Bay area flavors and traditional favorite with unique twists on local culinary traditions.  In addition, the hotel will offer four other food and beverage outlets and 24-hour room service.

Guest rooms are equipped with high speed wired and wireless Internet access; two-line telephones with voice mail and data ports; flat panel plasma televisions; and the Hilton Serenity Bed with down duvet and pillows and 250 thread count sheets.
