AmericanAirlines Arena Consolidates to MICROS's
Integrated 9700 Hospitality Management Solution
 .
The Home of The Miami HEAT Selects MICROS as its POS Provider
COLUMBIA, Md., Dec. 12, 2006 - MICROS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce that AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida has selected MICROS as its point-of-sale (POS) provider. A MICROS 9700 HMS enterprise-wide solution utilizing MICROS WS4 POS terminals and Mobile MICROS Hand-Held Terminals was implemented in mid-November.

MICROS's integrated 9700 HMS system allows AmericanAirlines Arena to eliminate incompatible POS technologies and consolidate operations and reporting, while reducing administrative overhead.

"Our previous configuration had become a challenge to effectively manage," stated Tony Coba, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of The Miami HEAT. "As a result of our internal process review, it became clear to us that migrating to a single unified platform would improve customer service; reduce operating costs; simplify staff training and enhance our data mining efforts."

Coba adds, "For us, it was important to partner with a POS vendor whose technology roadmap aligned with our strategic objectives. MICROS offered us a comprehensive POS solution that fit our diverse requirements at the best value. When you consider market share as well as their worldwide and local support infrastructure, MICROS was clearly the best choice. We are very excited about this new venture and look forward to expanding our relationship with MICROS."

"We are pleased to provide the AmericanAirlines Arena with a fully integrated, enterprise-wide solution that has eliminated the inefficiency of the legacy systems," stated Dan Interlandi, Executive Vice President of North American Distribution for MICROS Systems, Inc. "By offering an all-inclusive solution that meets the unique business needs of the stadium and arena industry, we look forward to a long-term partnership with AmericanAirlines Arena."
